Over the next 2 days, you and Lena talked a lot about the idea of moving to Metropolis for the foreseeable future while also spending a lot of time with your uncle.

It gave you an opportunity to talk about and reflect on your relationship and your goals as a couple. As well as just life in general.

After much discussion you realized that there was not much holding you back from taking this jump, other than Lenas family but you could always go back to visit them for holidays and on weekends sometimes when you get settled in Metropolis.

You both finished college not too long ago and then spent your summer enjoying life and planning your wedding, after which the plan was to get work either in Luthor Corp or other outside companies.

This opportunity came at the best time it could have as you haven't started working yet, so it wouldn't be difficult to do this.

Ultimately you both agreed to do this, it would be a nice change of scenery and if you don't like it you can always go back and sell the company or employ someone else to run it for you.

---

Your flight home was in a couple of hours and you went to visit your uncle one last time before departing. You still haven't told him your decision.

"Ah Y/n hi," Rodger says with a little cough. "Just came by before we leave to see if you need anything and to say goodbye." You tell him with a small smile. You hated seeing him sick.

"I'm alright. Thank you for checking in on me. I really wish I could have gotten to know you sooner. You really are an amazing person. Thank you for keeping me company for these last few days." He says with a smile.

"It's not a problem at all. I wish I was here to take care of you sooner too." You tell him with a small sigh, knowing that he won't be around for much longer.

"So, did you make a decision about my proposal yet?" He asks, causing you to look towards Lena one last time to make sure she doesn't want to back out.

She nods her head slightly. "Yeah, we accept your offer. We will take good care of your company." You tell him and he grins, a big smile on his face.

"That's great. Thank you so much." He says and you chuckle. "I think I'm the one that should be saying thank you for the opportunity you gave us."

"Not at all. It's a small gesture, considering I've missed your entire life." He says, a few coughs interrupting his words.

You say your final goodbyes and get ready to leave. You were well aware that this may be the last goodbye. Though you were not planning to be away for long.

2 weeks in National City at most to give you a chance to say goodbye and to pack your life up to move across the country.

---

Once your flight returned, you started on your house first as there was a lot less stuff to pack there. It gave you an opportunity to start working towards moving out while also giving you more time to prepare telling Lenas family that you are leaving again.

The idea of leaving this house completely vacant seemed wasteful, so you decided to put it on the rental market. You hoped that you could help someone who is struggling the way you were growing up.

It was sad to leave the family you have recently officially become part of, but it was also exciting to take a step forward in your professional career.

Though you could not lie, you were a little nervous as you didn't exactly have experience in running a business. Only as much as you learned in college, which isn't that useful since it wasn't hands-on anyway.

You had no doubt that it would be an exciting yet challenging adventure and all that mattered is that Lena would be by your side.

You moved the boxes of stuff into the garage, so it would be easier to load them up later when you have your delivery sorted.

Now came the hard part, telling the Luthors that you're leaving for who knows how long.

---

You stayed in your home for the night, with the plan of going to the Luthors mansion in the morning.

When you woke up, you could feel the dread creeping up as you thought about having to tell Lenas family that you're leaving.

She seemed to be in a similar state as she walked around the house mindlessly, checking one last time if everything that needed to be packed up was.

"Ready?" Lena asks as you pull into the driveway. "Ready as I can be." You respond as you leave the car and walk around to get the door for Lena.

"This is going to be interesting, to say the least," you tell her as she starts getting out. "It will be fine. They should have known this would be happening sooner or later." She says, deeply hoping that he parents won't make a big deal of it.

You told them in advance that you're coming for breakfast as you need to tell them something, so you hoped that they got mentally prepared for anything you would need to tell them.

When you walked in, they all seemed to be overly happy, like a constant grin on their face happy. "Uh, good morning." You say, a look of confusion crossing your face.

They all replied cheerily before pulling you both to the table for breakfast. You and Lena exchanged a glance and she shrugged her shoulders, indicating that she wasn't sure what's going on either.

You started eating and eventually brought up the topic. "Wait, what?!" Lilian exclaimed as you told them your plans. All their smiles quickly disappeared.

"You're moving across the city?" Lex asked in disbelief, causing you and Lena to nod your heads slightly.

"This- this wasn't supposed to happen." Lilian says, almost to herself. "What do you mean?" Lena asks her mother confused.

"I- I thought this was going to be good news. We all got excited." She says. "We just told you that we need to tell you something. Clearly you jumped to some conclusions, I see." Lena says.

"We thought you're going to tell us that you're having a baby or something." Lionel says, finally jumping into the conversation and clearing up the misunderstanding.

You and Lena exchanged a look, both trying to see if the other had said something but reverted your eyes back to the family when you realised you were both equally confused.

"Why was that your first conclusion exactly? We haven't even mentioned having kids before." Lena asks and they all stay silent for a while, thinking of a reason.

"Okay, maybe we didn't exactly have a reason to think so, but you're married it just seemed like the next logical step in your relationship." Lilian said, drawing your attention back to her.

"I really hate to break it to you, but there's no perfect timeline for a relationship.  Different couples want and need different things at different times." You tell her. You didn't want to tell her if you will or won't have kids because truly you didn't know.

"Anyway, we have already decided to move. We talked about it a lot and think it's a good opportunity that we won't be talked out of." You say, putting it out there because you knew that they may try to convince you otherwise.

You had a much longer conversation and they seemed to understand that this was happening whether they liked it or not and that all you really needed was their support.
