You plopped down on the bed after your shower, taking your laptop from the nightstand. You scrolled through flights, looking for one that would get to National City the soonest.

Lena came out of the bathroom 10 minutes later, having been drying her hair. "There's a flight in the morning." You tell her as you scroll through the different flights.

Lena sighed, sitting down beside you, looking at the flight. "Should I book it?" You asked her as she stared at the screen emotionless.

"Yeah." Lena mumbled under her breath. "Will you be okay going alone? I could come with you for the weekend." You offered.

"No, it's okay." Lena said. "You sure?" You double-checked. "I'll be fine." Lena replied, kissing your lips softly.

You went to bed to try and get some sleep before the early flight, but you didn't have much luck. You dozed in and out, never fully getting to sleep.

Lena seemed to be the same, only drifting in and out of sleep. You reached for your phone and it was only 3 am. It had felt like you've been lying here for a lot longer than that.

You booked an extra flight, having decided there was no way you'd let Lena go alone. Even if it was just for the weekend, it was better than nothing.

Your alarm rang loudly as 6 a.m. rolled around. You groaned. You had only just fully fallen asleep.

Lena grumbled next to you, pulling the blanket over her head to drown out the noise. You finally turned off the alarm and got out of bed.

You sleepily made your way to the kitchen to make some coffee. You started sipping on it before you even got back to your room.

"Coffee." You said as you placed Lenas cup on her bedside table. "Thank you." She mumbled, finally throwing the blanket off her head and sitting up.

"Are you hungry?" You asked as she grabbed her cup. She shook her head no. You nodded in response. You weren't surprised. You didn't usually have breakfast this early.

You packed some stuff into your backpack as you were only going for 2 days, while Lena packed a suitcase, not knowing how long she'll be away.

The trip to the airport was quiet as everything hadn't quite sunk in yet. You were there a week ago and everything was fine. Just goes to show how quickly things can change.

"Just drop me off there." Lena said quietly as you drove up to the airport. You didn't listen and continued driving towards the parking lot.

"Y/n?" Lena said, thinking you hadn't heard. "Hmm?" You said, looking at her for a brief moment. "I said you can let me out here." She repeated.

"I know what you said. It's not gonna happen." You told her. "There's really no need for you to go inside with me." Lena resisted, though she would like the company.

"I'm going with you." You said as you pulled into the parking lot. "I told you I'm fine." Lena grumbled.

"I'll make sure you are." You hummed. Lena took a deep breath. She knew there was no point talking about it anymore. Your mind was made up.

"You didn't have to. But thank you." Lena said quietly as you wrapped an arm around her shoulder, carrying her suitcase in your other hand.

You made your way into the airport and went through security, getting breakfast as you waited around for your flight.

Once you got on the plane, Lena cuddled into you as well as she could. "Try to get some sleep, baby." You told her, as you stroked her arm soothingly.

Lex picked you up at the airport and you went straight to the hospital. "Mom," Lena said softly, as she saw Lillian barely holding herself together as she waited for any news on Lionels condition.

His surgery was complete a few hours ago, but they needed to monitor him for a few more hours to make sure everything went well.

Lillian pulled Lena into a hug wordlessly, burying her head in her shoulder.

"Are you doing alright?" You asked Lex as you looked at him. "Better than them anyway." Lex grumbled as you both walked closer to Lena and Lillian.

You were at the hospital for 2 hours before anyone came to speak to you. "Lionel Luthor?" The doctor asked to confirm. "Yes." Lillian said, standing up.

"Good news. The surgery went well and he seems to be doing alright. We expect that he'll make a full recovery, but we will need to keep him in a medically induced coma for a few days to allow his body to heal." The doctor said, giving Lillian a reassuring smile.

Lillian took a deep breath, feeling like she could finally breathe again. "Thank you, Doctor." Lillian said, relieved. "Can we go see him?" She asked hopefully.

"Yes, you can ask at reception which room he's being transferred to." The doctor smiled, taking her leave as they had no more questions.

"He's okay." Lena whispered as she collided into you, hugging you tightly. You wrapped your arms around her, holding her until she pulled away a few minutes later.

In the meantime, Lillian found out what room Lionel is in and the four of you made your way through the hospital.

You all spent the weekend at the hospital for the most part. You made sure that they all ate and got home for at least some rest.

You had a feeling that when you leave, they'll all be here, waiting around for Lionel to be woken up.

You left very early Monday morning and went straight to work as you didn't want to be late.

It was a bit of a nightmare these last few days, but at least the doctors were confident that Lionel would make a full recovery.

Knowing that he was okay helped as you could focus back in on work and not worry as much about him.

A/n: bit of a filler chapter, I started writing it like 2 weeks ago and never got around to finishing it until now. I've kind of neglected this book, but I'm gonna try to get back into writing more for it. Just haven't been motivated to write for it :(
