6 am and you were already in the airport. Your flight was leaving in about 40 minutes, so boarding was about to start any minute. You would get to board before most other passengers as you booked 1st class tickets. You wanted to make sure you're comfortable for the over five hour flight ahead of you.
You spent the time watching a movie, during which Lena fell asleep. You smiled at her and turned off the movie, deciding to get some sleep yourself.
You had woken up very early that morning, so a little more sleep couldn't hurt. It took a little while for you to doze off, but once you did, you slept for over an hour.
Lena was still asleep when you woke so you stayed quiet, trying not to disturb her. Excitement started building as you would get to see the Luthors again after quite some time apart.
You kept in contact with Lex while you were away, but it's not the same as being able to see him in person.
He often talked about how he's working on various projects with his dad at Luthor Corp. He liked working with his dad, but he wasn't sure he'd ever want to be in charge. His dad had given him more responsibility in the company and he didn't really like it.
You could understand better than ever. You've seen the struggles firsthand of working at such corporations, let alone being in charge of them. It definitely took some time to get used to it for you and Lena.
On one hand it was easier with two people as you could share the workload, but on the other, Lena was quite stubborn at times, which made it more difficult to make some decisions at the start.
In those situations that you disagreed in, you both tried to be impartial to make the best decision for the betterment of the company than for the sake of winning the debate.

You were pulled out of your thoughts as an announcement rang about landing in 15 minutes. You were so ready to get off this plane and stretch your legs.
Lena seemed to stir at the announcement as well, slowly opening her eyes, blinking away the sleepiness. She took hold of your hand, intertwining your fingers before laying back again.
You slowly grazed your thumb against her hand in a soothing motion. She was still a bit out of it after her long nap.
A few minutes later, she rested her head against your shoulder. "Do you feel alright, my love?" You asked as she leaned into you.
She smiled happily and nodded. "Yeah. Just a little sleepy." She added. "Are you hungry? We got some snacks." You asked, making sure she was satisfied.
"I'm all good, love." Lena replied as she looked up at you from where she rested her head. "Alright." You smiled as your hand found its way into her hair, playing with it gently.
The plane landed in no time and you were first off the plane. Thankfully it was only a short drive to the Luthor mansion.
You got the keys for your rental and went straight there. You left your bags in the car as you went to greet the family. Lex's face lit up when he saw you, rushing to pull you both into a hug.
"Oh my god. I miss you so much, guys." He said, not letting you go from his tight hug. "Lex, don't be selfish." His dad said with a chuckle. "We want to hug them too." He added.
"Yeah, let us go, you weirdo." You teased playfully as he finally pulled away. "How dare you." He frowned in fake hurt.
You just flashed him a smile in response as you went to hug his parents as Lena had already done so. You said your hellos, giving each of them a tight hug.
They had lunch ready by the time you arrived so you all sat down to eat while catching up on each other's lives.
"I can't believe you're here. And that you're going to leave us again in a week." Lex sapped.
You rolled your eyes. "Dude, get over yourself." You chuckled. "Christmas is less than a month away." You pointed out, as you would, of course, be coming back for the holidays.
"I know. I know. I just miss y'all." He pouted, causing Lena to chuckle. The conversation continued and Lex told you about possibly moving out pretty soon.
He thought he was a bit old to be living with his parents and his relationship with his girlfriend was getting pretty serious, so they might move in together if she accepts.
You were talking to Lex while Lena was conversing with her parents. "So..." Lex trailed off, causing you to look at him, eyebrows raised.
"Any babies on the way?" He asked, hopeful. You wanted to roll your eyes, but instead, you decided to prank him.
"Oh yeah actually, we were planning to reveal it at the Thanksgiving dinner." You said in a whisper, not wanting his parents to hear and get excited.
"Oh my god, really? Finally." Lex all but squealed, his leg banging on the table from his overexcitement, bringing everyone's attention on the two of you.
"No," you laughed and Lex's face fell. "You're a jerk, you know that?" He asked rhetorically. "I try." You said sarcastically as Lena and her parents looked confused on what just happened as they didn't hear the full conversation.
Lena raised an eyebrow and you leaned in whispering in her ear, "he asked if there's any babies on the way." She laughed out looking towards Lex, who was pouting.
That was a sight, a grown man pouting because his sister and best friend aren't having babies.
"And here I thought it was mothers job to hound us for grandchildren." Lena said, which quickly got the attention of her parents.
"What?" Lilian asked a little surprised. "It's just that Lex seems to really really want us to have kids." You said, looking at the older woman.
"Grandkids would be nice." Lionel added with a grin from beside Lillian. "Oh God," you mumbled. It seems like you just opened a can of worms you didn't mean to.
"We have a company to look after, no time for kids." You said simply. "You know that's not a good excuse, I had kids while running mine." Lionel said.
That probably has something to do with the fact that Lilian did most of the rearing while Lionel did his own thing with the company. That would never work for you. It wouldn't be fair for one person to do the bulk of the child raising.
"In that case. Lex I think it about time you give your parents some grandchildren." You smirked, turning your attention back on him. He started this discussion after all.
"Yeah. He's older. Why am I expected to have kids now." Lena adds, running along with your idea.
"I- Ugh, what?" Lex sputters, he didn't like how the tables turned on him as his parents eyed him, realising the very fact.
"Y-yeah, but the-they're married." Lex stutters, pointing in your direction. "And we're also too young." You added and Lena nodded in agreement. Not that you would necessarily have kids, but it was the principle.
"Maybe think twice next time before opening your mouth." You said with a cheeky wink, causing Lex to huff and slump back in his chair.
"You're the worst," He muttered under his breath as he took a bit of his food.
Lena quickly diverted the conversion away from babies and children which was a relief. You really hoped it wouldn't be like this every time you visit in the future.
At the end of the day, it's fully your decision and you would not be making it just to please them.
