"Dude! Slow down! I understand you want your phone back but Fay, come on!" Charice shouted, trying to catch up to my ridiculously long strides towards the park.
I let a sigh escape my lips and made my legs come to a slower pace so Charice could catch up and we could walk together to the park.
"You look nervous," Charice stated, slipping her phone in her jean pocket.
"I feel frustrated," I snapped loudly, realising that it came out too harshly.
I blew a sigh of embarrassment and turned to Charice.
"I'm sorry," I said, back to my normal level of tone.
"It's okay," Charice said, whilst elbowing me playfully in my side.
"I just really want my phone back," I pouted, looking at the ground while walking. Feeling useless without my phone.
"I understand Fay, if I were in your opposition I would it want just as badly," Charice mentioned, looking at me with understanding eyes.
I smiled a small smile of gratitude and elbowed her side playfully as well.
"Anyway, I still ship you and Jake," Charice added.
Urgh, of course you do," I said, in an unchanging tone.
"Well, what can I say? I just see it okay?"
"Yeah, and I see you and Kenneth fitting well together but it doesn't mean that you guys are going to get together," I retaliated. I watched her raise her eyebrows in amusement.
"Who?" She asked, confused and amused. It must of been my choice on the guy.
"You know, Kenneth, from Hospitality," I explained, shoving my hands in my pockets to fill the feeling of emptiness in my pockets.
"Who's Kenneth?" She asked, still not catching on.
"Kenneth," I said, looking at her with a are-you-serious-face. I soon realised that she had no idea what I was talking about and sigh in frustration. "Your Hospitality partner."
"Oh!" her mouth made an 'o' shape. She then quickly shifted to 'no-way' face.
"I wouldn't go there."
"Why not?"
"Why? Because I don't mix love with Hospitality partners," she stated, coaxing her chin up.
"Pfft." I knew better.
Charice flashed a smile and and linked my arm with hers and we walked the rest of the way in silence.
The silence was comforting but still didn't distracted from the missing bulge in my pocket, where my phone use to sit.
Sigh. I actually felt completely empty without my phone, like another piece of me was missing. And, it's true because everything's on phone. My contacts, pictures, my calendar filled with events, my plans, for my fake boyfriend, and most importantly, it was my connection to the outside world...my outside world of course consisting of only my friends and Andrew. I guess what I really missed was talking to Andrew. And yes, I know what you're thinking: she's been talking to Eddie? My answer is: yes, but I haven't told anyone, not even Charice.
"Fay?" I heard Charice call out to me.
"Hm? Yes?" I asked snapping back to reality as usual.
"What are we going to do about the whole Bethany thing?"
"B2."
"B2," Charice corrected herself.
