We walked into the air-conditioned room, only to be greeted by our favourite couple Sammy and Liam.
Sammy and Liam practically live in the Music Department at Polebrick. They spend as much as they can here and are also the music leaders. We only come into the Music Deparment if it's too hot or too cold or some smart asses take our spot but sometimes we get the occasional invite.
"Sammy!" I exclaimed as I saw the short dark sandy blonde hair.
She turned on her heel and a big smile appeared on her face. "Fay!"
We met each other half way and embraced in a big bear hug. Sammy is shorter than me but taller than Rosie, which always gave me the advantage I need if I ever want to pick her up. In most of the hugs I give her, I always pick her and spin her around. It's fun and she always hates it, which makes it even more fun.
I then moved on to chestnut brown hair and oval face, which had a big smirk on its handsome face. I tried to keep a straight face as I greeted him.
"Hello Liam."
His smirk turned into a little soft chuckle. "Hi, Fay. Long time no see."
After a couple of seconds, I finally cracked and a smile appeared on my face. We then embraced in a small, a little bit awkward, hug.
Once everyone was through with greetings and going through what we did over the holidays, and yes 'Tyler' was mentioned, we moved on to listening to Sammy and Liam's band giving us a short performance.
Sammy and Liam's band is called Penguins Side Up. They consist of six members: Liam the lead guitarist, Sammy on bass and vocals, Jeff aka G (I have no idea why the boys call him G) on keys, Mik (which is short for Mikaela) on the drums, Kat as vocals as well as Eve. They have been a band for only a couple of months but have been friends for a long time. They all share a great taste in music and you can never get bored listening to them because they have a variety of songs that they play. They play almost anything; pop, rock, metal, etc. They don't really like following in other people's footsteps, well repeating the same devastating songs over and over again, but enjoy make their own road and rocking on it for as long as they can. They are about the greatest bunch of people you will ever meet and are great people to hang out with.
Our gang all stood in a line against the wall, watching the band when a girl with a huge smile on her face came barging in.
"Oh my god! You guys are never gonna believe what type of gig I got you!" That's Vanessa, the bands manager.
"What is it V?" Jeff asked, turning his body from the piano to face the brown curly haired girl who just walked in.
"Where is it?" Mik asked, twirling her drumsticks around her fingers.
"You guys are going to be performing at Número Dos!" Vanessa squealed.
"Wait, you mean the resturant down near Polebrick South?!" Mik asked, this time raising from her chair.
"Uh-huh," Vanessa replied, clearly trying to hold in a scream.
"Oh my god!" Kat spoke, grabbing Eve and hugging her. They all started giving each other high-fives and giving hugs. The excitement in the room was great to watch, I just wished I was apart of it.
I looked over back at Vanessa and saw her look in our direction and her excitement immediately faded. She then place a hand on her hip and stood all sassy like while giving the why-are-you-here look.
