I had agreed to meet Jungkook's family, and while it was a step forward, I couldn't help but feel a little anxious. After dropping Ri off at my parents' place, I got dressed, choosing something casual yet presentable. As I looked in the mirror, I took a deep breath, reminding myself that this was just the beginning, and there was no need to rush things.

Jungkook picked me up, and we drove to his grandfather's house. The car ride was filled with easy conversation, which helped to ease my nerves. I realised that his presence was somehow comforting to me now.

When we arrived, Jungkook parked the car, and we walked up to the house. It was a charming place, with a neatly kept garden and a few cars in front.

He took my hand as we walked up to the door, squeezing it gently. "You ready?" he asked, his eyes searching mine.

"A little nervous," I replied, giving him a small smile.

"You aren't alone, Y/N. It's me and you." He said.

The door opened before we had the chance to knock and before I could even reply to Jungkook, a woman, who I guessed was Jungkook's mother, greeted us with a bright smile. She looked kind and welcoming, putting some of my fears to rest.

"Jungkook, you're here! And you must be Y/N," she said, enveloping me in a warm hug. "I'm so glad you could make it. Come in, come in."

"You knew I was bringing Y/N?" Jungkook asked.

We stepped inside, and I could see the servants setting the table.

"Be thankful that your Grandfather told me about Y/N, I didn't even know you had a girlfriend, Jungkook. Is that how-"

"Now, now is that the way to welcome our beautiful guest?" Jungkook's Grandfather interrupted as he walks towards us. " Y/N, how are you, my dear?"

"I'm fine, yeah, how have you been? Haven't seen in you a while." I replied, trying to ignore the fact that Jungkook's mom didn't know about me.

As we moved further into the house, Jungkook's father emerged from a side room. His demeanor was more reserved, his smile not quite reaching his eyes.

Jungkook stopped as his father appeared. It was tense, I could feel that tension next to Jungkook.

His father gave a nod and a tight-lipped smile to me and walked to the dining room.

There was something going on between Jungkook and his dad and have no idea what that is. We moved to the dining room where lunch was being set up. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with Jungkook's mother and Gramps engaging me in their conversations, but I couldn't ignore the weird feeling inside of me and the tensed Jungkook next to me.

After lunch, we decided to take a walk in the garden, well just me and Jungkook's grandfather, as Jungkook's mom asked to have a few words with her son.

"You're so quiet today." Jungkook's grandfather said.

"It's nothing, really, Mr. Jeon."

"Ah ah, Gramps better."

"Gramps." I chuckled.

"Is everything okay?" He asked.

"Yeah.." I said almost in a whisper. "Thank you for welcoming me here."

"I wish you brought Ri along."

"I thought it's too early to-" I shook my head.

"I would have loved to have her here." He smiled. "You know that, don't you."
