POV Sonic

I was fixing my quills before making my way down stairs to get my prepped breakfast. As usual, Manic and Sonia, way early as always, already made their way to school. As in for mom and dad, at work. I ate my breakfast on the way to school and saw Shadow from afar. I smiled and ran quickly towards him.

He turned to me rapidly and stood there glaring at me. "I know! I should stop sneaking up on ya! You want some?" I held up the second piece of toast with strawberry jam as he relaxed his glare and seemed to awkwardly look around. "Can I?" He asked me, "Yeah! Of course! Here, have it." I gave it to him and watched him it eat it as we started walking together. "So...do you usually eat breakfast? What do you like?" I know some people skip breakfast and I genuinely want to know more about him, I almost forgot that my goal is to make him smile.

"I do not usually eat breakfast in the morning, but I do like hot pockets and toast for breakfasts sometimes." I chuckled. "Nice to know." Shadow nodded, it was a pretty nice morning, nice breeze, and the sun was barely coming out.

"I would like to help you move your items to your new place if you'd like, I do have an asset of myself that would help." I watched as the sun beamed on his eyes and I smiled. I can't believe people actually skip the fact that he exists, he's really good lookin'.

"Ooo what assets?" I cooed in curiosity. "It is called chaos control, it allows me to warp time, and in easier terms, teleport. I suppose I was born with it. I figured it wouldn't be so surprising to you because of your own assets of hasty speed." My eyes widened. "Teleportation, huh? Wouldn't want to take advantage of you in any way but it would be very useful. How does it work like energy wise, does it have limits?" I scanned his tranquility with interest in what he had to say.

"In simple terms, I need the energy of the chaos emerald." Shadow said as he reached for his quills and I beheld the sight of a shimmering, captivating emerald. "Woah...that's so cool. So like do you know the history of this thing, not to be corny but I really like hearing you talk, probably because I'm so used to your professionalism all of the time." I snickered as I eyed the emerald, still fascinated by its power and beauty.

"I'm afraid we might not have enough time. Perhaps I'll accompany you after school to help." I snickered and smiled widely as I then began to laugh. "I really like hanging out with you. I hope one day we can hangout even after school."

The day passed by and my friends and I were at the cafeteria. I took glances across the roaring, large cafeteria room, trying to find Shadow as I waited for my friends to all come together; I have to introduce them to Shadow.

"Hey Sonic! So when's that soccer game?" Some guy asked me with a smile as I smiled back. "I'll tell you later! I really need to find someone right now!" I may have forgot to mention, but I'm pretty well known, I won't say super duper popular, just really well known. Which of course has its pros and cons but it depends. Sports really put ya on the spotlight.

I found Shadow in the corner of my eye, listening to music once again, I should ask him about that later. I eyed my friend's impatiently, tapping my foot and mouthing my mouth like I was about to whistle.

As soon as I got everyone together, I introduced Shadow to my friends then we all began walking to the gas station to buy lunch.

I arrived at the gas station and was paying for the food with some money Silver and Shadow shared with me. Then...all of a sudden, a whole crowd of questions and words for Shadow were heard.

"Do you have a type? Or a girlfriend!?" Amy asked.
.
"You seem like one of those loners at a party." Rouge stated.
.
"Why do you always look so sad?" Tails questioned.
.
"So are you like, depressed? I haven't seen no one like that here. You must get all the attention, huh? What happened to you, your parents divorced or something?" Knuckles bluntly asked Shadow.
...
Shadow stood quiet and looked down as a way to try to communicate his discomfort, at least I understood it that way.

"Lay off him. These ain't the type of questions you ask someone you just met. You guys are so quick to judge, it's rude and disrespectful. Say sorry, right now." I stood in front of Shadow with furrowed brows and crossed arms. I didn't expect that to come from Knuckles...at all. I don't understand depression either but even if Shadow was depressed, there's no reason to glorify it or try to dehumanize him.

They all looked ashamed and cleared their throats.
"I'm sorry Shadow, I guess relationship status isn't the only way to get to know someone. I'm Amy, it's nice to meet you."
"Sorry." Rouge and Tails said.
"I'm sorry man, I didn't realize how bad that sounded. And I'm sorry for the assumptions, I just didn't know." Knuckles scratched the back of his neck and they all looked at me as I turned back around to finish paying with a huff.

Awkward silence filled the little area as I finished paying. "Hey Shadow! Man! What best way to get to know each other than hang? Rouge is planning a party this weekend, maybe a ton of people will show up or only some. Wanna come?" Knuckles excessively exclaimed with a bright, wide, smile as we all exited the gas station and began walking back to campus. "I don't know if he'll enjoy that Knux, what do you say Shads?" Shadow cocked his head, then lowered it. I really do wonder what's on his mind sometimes. "Will you be there?" Shadow asked me, I snickered and rolled my eyes as I watched him shift next to me.

"Obviously! If it means having fun, I'm all in!" He continued to look at me with those almost angry puppy eyes. "I suppose I can go then." He's weird, in the good way. I used to think he was scary but now that I know him a bit, he's pretty cute.
