POV Sonic

It's been a week after I've kissed Shadow, and to be honest, we both have been running away from confronting that we kissed. He's been going to therapy, prom's tomorrow, I've been working, and we're all awaiting our Final's scores, so can I excuse it??

I stared at the video game isles, the same one's I've been watching endlessly every day. Usually when there's no customers wanting my attention, I just think about this sort of stuff. Call it depressing or sentimental or whatever but it sort of helps me acknowledge my feelings, even if I still think it's embarrassing to feel them.

With Shadow...

POV Shadow

"Someone kissed me days ago." I began to talk, the therapist gave me a nod, signaling me to continue. "Someone I perhaps liked, since my body acted upon itself to feel more of the kiss he gave me." The lady nodded and smiled and from time to time she would write something down in her journal. "How did that make you feel?" She replied.

"Why I'm unsure." My head tilted ever so slightly, how did it make me feel? Warm? "Okay, well how about this. Do you like him? How does he make you feel?" I thought carefully and I took my time. "There were times where I appreciated his presence, like when I was in pain or agony." I paused for a moment before I continued. "Sometimes I don't understand him and it bothers me that I don't." I furrowed my brows in the tiniest bit because I too, was confused on how I felt.

"I do respect him, he is empathetic, and bold, and confident. He knows who he is, where he stands. He's secure about himself and it shows. He's honest, and he carries a big heart, an extremely heroic heart." I felt a little smile grow on me. "You talk good about him. Do you have any attraction towards him?" I thought about him, every detail about him. His appearance, his eyes, his manner and voice. I was infatuated from the start, the very second we stood face to face. Yes, his optimism and curiosity caught me completely off guard, but it was attracting.

"When we kissed, I paid close attention to his movements and facial expressions and noises, I recall wanting more after the kiss we shared ended. I recall wanting control." I finally replied. "Control...hmm." The therapist hummed and she flipped through her journal, I read the heading turned upside down, I could tell it said my name. "That's interesting. Do you think the want or need of control relates to what happened to your sister?"

My body sat cold, I informed her about Maria and what had happened recently, now when the therapist brings the topic up, I feel opposed and overwhelmed and anxious. But in a way she was right in asking this question, for it had me thinking. I paused, for a long while. And I truly liked how this therapist would sit patiently awaiting for my answer. Her patience helped me forge words I never thought of. "I could've been there that day." I began to speak. "I could've helped her through the pain she endured. If I only I remained in that damn inhibitor for one more minute, I could've seen. I would've been at ease. I could have grown into someone functional. I could've."

Then all of a sudden I felt weak. My whole body shook in anxiety and my limbs felt brittle, tremendously fragile. Like a single gush of wind could've knocked me down. "In that moment, I wanted to be in control. I wanted to break that barrier, that glass between me and her and stop that bullet. But it all happened too quickly. So I suffocated with guilt and I remain weak inside." My hands shuddered as I touched my heart. "I just wanted to be in control, I needed to be, I have to be." I was in the verge of breaking.

"And I couldn't blame you for wanting that power, what happened wasn't your fault. You weren't and aren't meant to prepare for something as traumatic as that." I gave the lady a small nod, she was right. "I have spent more than half of my life wondering why I hated this world so deeply and I was angry when I learned to love it." I ranted, I wanted answers for everything, I need to understand. "But then I remembered, to view the world through her eyes. Viewing the world like she did is what made Earth so beautiful." I took a deep breath, and felt more relaxed, like my body accepted my words too.

"I'm glad." Was all she said before I decided to leave.

POV Sonic

"prom tomorrow, have you found a date yet?" Kitty said as she rested her hands on the counter and looked to me. "I haven't asked him out yet." She rose a brow and gave me a smirk. "Oh...Him?" I smirked back, watching the clock and waiting for my shift to end. "Sonic just go." I smiled and created a gush of wind as I ran by to go to Shadow's house

When I arrived I saw him at the front door and I guess he heard me somehow so he turned around. "Hi." I smiled sheepishly because it was just starting to hit me that I am about to ask someone out. "Hi I just came back from therapy. Do you need anything?" He asked and I found myself completely frozen, man he really knows how to make someone nervous with the damn eye contact. He's so naive. I laughed.

"Oh right! How—how's it been?" I cleared my throat nervously and it felt so dry. Man why do I feel so nervous? I'm just going to ask him out for prom. The worst he could say is no right? "I learn a lot in therapy, I'm glad I go, I don't feel as angry anymore." My face rested, angry? I never knew he felt angry. "Was there something you wanted to ask me?" I shook my head and continued. "Well...yes. There is." He faced his whole body to me, giving me his full attention.

"I don't have a pretty glittery poster or anything because I was debating if you even wanted to go or what you would say or—" I cut myself short and he raised a brow. "Wanna go to prom with me?" I smiled and chuckled nervously as I rubbed the back of my neck. "Yes." I smiled.

"What a way to kill the suspense." I chuckled but then for the first time, my heart fluttered and I smiled shyly. "Okay then, I'll pick you up tomorrow at 6:30." He smirked and nodded. I ran to my apartment and immediately searched my closet for a suit, how I hate wearing pants but I gotta do it. It's a formal occasion, a special occasion.

POV Shadow

He invited me to prom with him. What would that mean? He likes me, but what does he mean? I stepped inside my house pondering about what will happen and what could happen. Maybe we can even kiss again. I heard a knock on my door, my first thought was that it would be Sonic but I sensed someone else.

"Knuckles just told me Sonic asked you to prom and you said yes, so I'm doing you a favor by making sure you look breathtaking!" The flirty bat stepped inside my house with those tall pink high heels and her lips plumped as ever. She held a bag and dumped clothings and accessories and even shoes on my sofa then gave me a smirk. I crossed my arms and watched as she organized each piece.

"Now, let's glow you up handsome." She rested her hands on her hips, smirking with a glint in her eye. I only stood in front of her confused, the suits I have are fine.
...
"Glow me up?"
