3rd POV

Shadow sat lonely on his bed wondering what to do now that he remained confused for what Sonic was feeling.

Therefore he went to his therapy session.

Meanwhile with Sonic, the blue blur who wouldn't stop running, ran past light posts and buildings, near forests, and near familiar houses and stopped when the sight of Shadow's tree fell upon. He breathed in harshly. Taking steps forwards yet taking steps back.

POV Sonic

What do I do? This feels difficult and I know it shouldn't be. But I just can't seem to focus on a right decision.
...
"Ugh!" I stomped on the ground, like a toddler throwing a tantrum. I fell to the ground, gripping my quills, and huffed and puffed as I took steady breaths to calm down.
...
I need to pull myself together. I can't make good choices when I'm like this, I need to find somewhere quiet.

Next Day

I haven't heard from any jobs, any colleges, or even Shadow. I guess I should be the one reaching out but I can't. This is the lowest I've ever been, I haven't felt this sad in years. How can a simple situation like this really affect me?

After sitting around doing nothing all day I decided that I needed to talk to Shadow. I don't know what I'm gonna say but I'm just gonna go with the flow. I ran to his house, instantly knocking patiently.

The door opened, he slowly met my gaze and like the beginning, I couldn't read him. As if that privilege to know him was suddenly taken, and it hurt in some type of way.

"Hi." I said quietly.

"Hello. Come in." He lead me inside, I felt his eyes on me endlessly averting them to every inch of me. Then we sat on the couch closely and he reached his hand to my cheek.

"I missed you." And he kissed me. His lips holding mine with devotion and I melted. I gave no thought but for a deeper connection. I couldn't move, he was warm and he pulled me in more. His hands caressed me along with his breath and our eyes shut in sync like the compassion we had for each other.
...
We let go in a flurry.

"Are you willing to?" He asked me and I moved away from him. "I don't know what you want me to do Shadow!" I yelled slightly, shrugging as my temper was beginning to let loose. "What do you want?" He asked me.
...
Then I lowered my head, as if this confession caused me shame. "I want to be with you." I clicked my tongue and furrowed my brows and hopelessness. "But what if I'm not capable? What if I promise to commit to you and I can't keep that promise?" I paused for a moment then continued. "Shadow I know how I am, I have unbreakable habits that you won't like—"

Then he shushed me with the a kiss to my heart.
...
"Even if you carry a million flaws, I will accept each one of them, and we can work on them together." I stood quiet, and I stared at him almost adoring him. "Understand that I am willing to wait for you because I too need the time." He held my hand as he said this, and my heart began thumping. "Therapy has been giving me a clear mind, it's sort of a guidance I never had. It has taught me that I am not ready to return your feelings in a healthy manner. I am not emotionally available to care for your needs because I still need to learn how to manage mine."

I listened and I listened so carefully to the truth in his words. "I can't be your partner at the moment even if you are who I want, it'll be selfish of me and it could hurt you." I smiled kindly and tightened the grip in his hand. This hurt me in a way, yet it felt good. "That's very considerate of you." I smiled softly while meeting his eyes. "I'll admit, I'm usually not up for a slow paced thing, but we can take things slow. I'll slow down for you." I smirked and winked at him.

"How ironic."
...
"I like that."

To be continued.
