Chapter 1: What Happened?

A month and a half later. . .

     "This still in: After almost a month since the incident, the young Irish boy, Niall Horan, from the European boy band One Direction, is still reported missing. He was last seen with his band at their rental house in Glendale, Arizona, their most recent location during their world tour. Band members and security had witnessed his kidnap at around two thirty in the morning on February 22nd, but were unable to save him."

"I saw him right as he was shoved into this black van," a banner with the words "Liam Payne (Band Member)" appeared at the bottom of the screen. "and there was this man. He slammed the door as soon as Niall was in and immediately got into the driver's seat before we could make out a face. Most of us tried to run after him and save Niall, but he barely drove off before we could catch either of them."

"After thorough investigation of the house, evidence shows the captor had already been hiding in the house before the band's arrival. However, no black van reported to have arrived until just moments before the incident."

"We had no recollection of anyone else entering the house before or after the boys arrived." Another banner appeared with the words "Adam Jones (Security Guard)." "A couple of security guards, including myself, checked the house for locked doors and crazed fans at around eight forty, which was about twenty minutes before the band arrived, and there was nothing. Nobody was at the house."

"Of course, it's pretty normal, especially for these boys, to occasionally have a fan or two try and sneak in and hang with the boys." The banner read "Paul Higgins (One Direction's Tour Manager)." "But we can take care of them, obviously, but this wasn't the work of a fan. If one thing's for sure, whoever did this planned it, and they planned it well."

"The investigators found that the man had been hiding in the attic and entered the interior of the house through a hatch in the ceiling. However, no DNA sample of this person had been identified, obviously further complicating the quest to recover the Irish lad."

"We haven't a clue to where he could possibly be right now. It's scaring us to death." The banner read "Louis Tomlinson (Band Member)." "I just wish- we all wish we could have helped him somehow. Wherever he is now, Niall, we care for you, we love you, and we hope to find you soon!"

"They took my baby!" The banner read "Maura Horan (Niall's Mother)." Tears were streaming down her face. "They took my boy! I can't imagine what he's going through right now!" She wiped her eyes. "I mean, I know police and everyone involved are doing all they can now, but God be with him and d*mn whoever took him! Oh, I just want my baby back!" She turned away and sobbed.

"Of course. That is certainly heart-breaking; I can't even imagine how this is for his mother." the reporter said sympathetically. "Although, what also leaves us and officials questioning is the fact no ransom was demanded for Niall's return. Family and band members say they would be willing to pay any price to bring him back, however, no ransom of any sort had been called for."

"We'd be able to pay anything." The banner read "Greg Horan (Niall's Brother)." "Any money, whatever those people may want to have Niall back, but no one has asked for anything. We haven't gotten any threats, any demands, we haven't gotten any contact from anybody."

"No one asked for a ransom or anything like that." The banner read "Harry Styles (Band Member)." His eyes were glazed over. "It's really confusing, and scary. I especially wonder because if that isn't what they wanted with him, then what did they want with him? What is happening to him now? I just wish I or any one of us could have gotten to him sooner, but we don't want to assume the worst."
