I opened my eyes to a bright light above me. Everything was fuzzy.

"Angel." A distant voice echoed in my ears.

I squeezed my eyes shut and took a deep breath. When I opened them again my vision was slightly clearer. I felt something soft beneath me.

"Angel." I heard again, and a dark silhouette appeared above me. I brought my hand up to my face and rubbed my eyes with the back of my hand.

"Angel, can you hear me?"

I finally recognized the voice as Dr. Frederick's. I groaned as I removed my hand from my eyes. Dr. Frederick's dark figure became visible above me, he was looking down at me.

"Angel?" he asked me again. His voice didn't echo anymore.

I looked around me. I was in a smaller hospital room, laying on top of a hospital bed. A nurse was on the left side of me, removing something from my head and arm.

"How are you feeling?" Dr. Frederick asked me.

I looked up at him with a confused expression. "Fine, I guess? Like I just woke up from a nap." I answered. The nurse next to me felt around my neck, chest, and arm. "What happened?" I asked.

Dr. Frederick picked up a clipboard and wrote something on it before he answered me.

"To be frank, you passed out from exhaustion." he answered. "The amount of power you used all at once, and for the amount of time you used it for, overwhelmed your body."

"How long was I out?" the nurse turned my face towards her and pointed a light at my eyes.

"Not long. Barely an hour. Forty-five minutes to be exact." he answered as the nurse continued to test me. He placed his clipboard down smiled at me. "Honestly, Angel, I would have been surprised if that didn't happen. You've never used your powers like that before, and you sure weren't giving into fatigue."

Fatigue? I furrowed my eyebrows and turned my head back toward him.

"I wasn't tired." I responded. "I didn't feel anything until I stopped."

"It would appear that your powers overlapped those feelings. When they were in action your physical feelings were forgotten, or numbed is probably the better word, to your immediate attention." he explained.

"Is that bad?"

"Of course not. If anything, the healing aspect of your powers keeps you energized so you can do what you need to. It may just be a matter of working up to using your powers that much."

The nurse picked up her papers and walked over to Dr. Frederick. She put her hand on his arm and whispered something to him. He nodded a couple of times and looked over the paperwork in her hand.

"Perfect, thank you." he nodded with a simple smile. "I'll take care of everything else. You can head home how."

With that, the nurse returned his smile and nodded before she straightened and walked out the door. Dr. Frederick looked back at me.

"Nurse Louissa just finished her check-up on you, and she says if you are feeling alright, you are good to go." he said.

Me? I have healing powers that are most likely the cause of my recovery and they're worried about me?

"What about Niall?" I immediately asked. "How is he?"

"He's fine, Angel. I just saw him, he's alright." he reassured rather shakily.
