ENJOYYYYYYY
Grian immediately stops in his tracks as soon as he steps outside. Standing on the front steps of his new home, he scans the horizon, but doesn't find anything.
Ever since everything went down, Grian has been living with his family on the plain, enjoying the warm sun and cool breezes of his new life. But today there's no breeze. Everything is still.
"Aria?" he calls out.
No response.
Grian pokes his head back into the house. "Taurtis?"
Nothing.
Returning his vision to the plains, he scans the edges, and finds a mysterious purple light glowing at the base of a mountain. With a sinking feeling in his gut, Grian slams his front door closed and bolts away from the building, running through the long grasses and wildflowers of the plain. He runs towards the purple light, unsure of what is to come.
Slowing down as he approaches the light, he identifies it as coming from the inside of a cave. Taking a deep breath, Grian enters the cave and immediately starts calling out his husband and daughter's names.
"Taurtis? Aria? Where are you?" Grian calls out as he creeps through the purple hues of the cave. "This isn't the time for games, please come out!"
Just as the tunnel begins to get uncomfortably small, the room opens into a wide, dome-shaped area. The room is empty, save for a few inscriptions on the floor in the center.
Grian walks to the inscriptions and crouches down, running his fingers softly over the galactic letters, muttering them under his breath. Suddenly, a flash of purple light explodes throughout the room, blinding Grian as he jumps back and lands on the cold floor. He immediately begins to feel drowsy, and his eyelids slip closed as he collapses.
As Grian begins to regain consciousness, he hears scattered voices that he can't make out. His eyelids flutter open slowly, but, still unable to see, Grian stays still and tries to hone in on one object, wanting to regain visual focus. Soon enough, he can see semi-clearly, and can hear well enough to make out specific voices.
"Well, what are we going to do when he wakes up?!" one angrily shouts.
"I don't know, you're the one in charge here!" another retaliates.
Grian's eyes dart around the room, confused and scared. He still can't see very far away, but notices his wrists tightly bound behind his back with thick rope. He's propped up against the wall with his legs outstretched in front of him, his ankles loosely tied together as well.
