For a moment after waking up, Xisuma sits on his bed, confused. But the sight of Mumbo curled into his side with tear stains on his face and the messed-up bed sheets on his other side brings him back to last night. It brings him back to that dark prismarine roof.

Suddenly realizing that Grian is no longer next to him, Xisuma whips his head up his eyes searching the room for him. Panic rising, he carefully lays Mumbo back on the bed before sprinting out of his bedroom and down the nearest hallway. Oh god. Oh god oh god oh god. Horribly terrifying thoughts pour into Xisuma's head as he scours his base for Grian.

Xisuma stops in his tracks when he hears a muffled sob to his right. Before him is the door to his bathroom. He puts his ear to the dark oak door softly and listens closely, hearing a few more sobs coming from inside.

Reaching for the handle, Xisuma slowly twists the door open just enough for him to peek his head inside. Grian whips his tear-ridden face to the sound and immediately springs to his feet, body frozen and eyes wide.

Pushing the door open all the way, Xisuma takes a small step forward, causing Grian to tense up even further as another wave of tears rolls down from his eyes. Xisuma continues to take smaller steps towards Grian, not wanting to scare him. However, when he gets too close for Grian's liking, Grian jumps back and grips the edge of the sink, starting to breathe a little harder than before. His eyes frantically dart between Xisuma and the door, wondering if it would be too risky to make a run for it.

Xisuma holds his hands up to show that he means no harm and takes a step back and to the left, intending to calm Grian's nerves, but also inadvertently giving him a clear route to the door, a path of escape.

"Grian..." Xisuma says softly. "Please, buddy, I need you to calm down so that I can help you."

Grian offers no verbal response. Not even a change in facial expression. He just continues to glance back and forth between Xisuma and the exit.

"Please, Grian," Xisuma tries again, taking a half step forward to be instantly met with Grian taking up a defensive position, his shaking hands pointing a bloodied razor blade at him. Now that his arms are visible, Xisuma notices several heavily-bleeding cuts littering his arms, his eyebrows furrowing in a shattering feeling of helpless confusion.

"St- stay back!" Grian shakily yells, holding the razor up warily. His legs are trembling and his knees buckle, but he holds the blade in front of himself like his life depends on it.

"Okay, okay," Xisuma says in an attempt to mollify Grian as he takes a few steps back, eyes wide.

Now breathing much harder, Grian starts to really consider making a run for it. Despite knowing he needs help and that his mind is not healthy, all that Grian can think about is escape. Why? He's not quite sure, but it feels as if every cell in his body is aching to bolt and to run away from Xisuma's open and welcoming arms. He hears Xisuma's gentle words of reassurance, but they just travel in one ear and out the other. Every sound except for Grian's thumping heartbeat has faded into the distance like a blur.
