"And then I just-"

"I'm sorry, Scar," Grian cuts him off. "I really need to go, can we continue later?"

A quiet sadness appears in Scar's eyes, but he still smiles. "Yeah, sure! I'll see you tomorrow?"

"Yeah!" Grian says, already lifting himself off of the ground and shooting off towards his base.

After a minute or two of flying around aimlessly to try and calm himself down, which he fails at, Grian pulls his wings closer to his body and dives down into Grumbot's cave. Once he's at a good distance above the ground, he swiftly expands his wings and slows himself down, stumbling as he lands. He doesn't usually stumble.

Running over to the rocky wall of the cave, Grian presses his back against it and sinks down, pulling his knees to his chest and burying his face as he starts to cry.

"God damn it," he whispers through tears as he leans his head back against the wall. "He's gonna hate me now. Ugh, why am I like this?!" he desperately asks the empty void around him.

Grian adores Scar, but something about him talking had set him off. The never ending talking, repetition of things that have already been said, and his obliviousness to the fact that Grian had been extremely out of it and didn't even want to talk in the first place. Yes, Grian understands that it's not Scar's fault and that he meant no harm, but the way that he went on and on without end, it just got to Grian. And he broke.

Though not wanting to, Grian thinks back to high school. Before everything went down. Grian, still somewhat upset with himself for not seeing the signs and leaving sooner, sifts through his memories .

Grian thinks back to Mrs. Okami's class. Oh, how he had loved that teacher. Unfortunately, she had left the room for a few minutes to grab some things from another room, and Sam had decided to start ranting about something random to Taurtis.

Grian looks over to his crush, Taurtis. Taurtis returns Sam's gaze, nodding occasionally as he goes on and on about something irrelevant. But Grian knows he's not listening. He has seen Taurtis increase the volume on his music as Sam had started talking, and smiles at the irony of the situation.

Suddenly, an unknown figure appears behind Sam. A classmate of theirs. Grian isn't sure of her name, but recognizes her.

"Uhm, excuse me?" she asks politely.

"What do you want?" Sam asks in return, clearly annoyed that she has interrupted his flow.

"Well, uhm," she stutters, clearly nervous. Who wasn't nervous around Sam in that school though? Well, maybe Taurtis, but still. "I'm trying to read up front, and I-, I uhm, it's hard to concentrate with you talking so loud. Could you- would you mind speaking a little softer, please?" she requests politely, smiling at Sam.

Sam, however, expectedly takes this the wrong way and pushes himself out of his chair. He now stands above her and scowls down at her. With a swift movement of his fist and a surprised yelp from the girl, the whole class turns towards the scene in surprise.
