THE FIRST DAY- AUSTRALIA

Australia entered the classroom confident as ever.

In school he was pretty iconic- he was the "nice guy", always hyping up the class, cracking jokes at the right time and of course his unique accent played into this. He wasn't arrogant about any of this either and respected boundary's.

Naturally,
A lot of girls developed a "liking" towards him.

"How ya doin mate?"
He asks Cambodia. Ruffling the Cambodians hair and walking swiftly down the centre of the classroom.

"Albania!" He shoots a cheery smile at the Albanian.

"Nigerrrr!!!" He says pointing at him with arms extended, rolling his "r's"

"Morocco!" He exclaims in a funny tone, winking.

When he finally reaches his seat, he finds a taller country sat with an intimidating grin on his face.

Australia POV:
I felt my smile fade as I realised this would be the new seating plan.

"Not going to greet me?" The country remarked, snarkily.

He turned his face from the shadows to me - an eyepatch hung over his right eye and three stripes of red blue and white , a faint scar lingering near his mouth.

I should know about that scar.

After all, I was the one who put it there.

"Serbia" I mutter coldly - glaring at the country.

I can feel the tension in my body as my fist balls up.

"Miss me? I'm sure New Zealand does" he trails off "I've got a whole new game plan for you this year-"

My blood is boiling and I am no longer listening to what he is saying- I feel the tension in me reaching a breaking point.
But I promised.
I kept my tongue bit between my jaw to stop me from saying anything I might regret,

I narrow my eyes at the country
Digging my fingernails into the palms of my hand and feeling the blood rushing through my neck and head.

My mind is whirring, I feel the veins in my arms popping.

He is still talking.

Then I catch a few words of what he is saying.

"Well that is of course unless you want your preciousss younger brother to be... treated...

again."

He hisses close to my ear between hot breaths of air. I could feel it on my neck- goosebumps rising in hatred. As he flicked the rim of my drawstring hat up and slowly retreated. Drawing a long inhale with a grin on his face, closing his eyes. Taunting me.
Lingering on the name
"New..Zeal-"

That's it.
I bare my teeth.
I raise my hand and reach for his ear.

Nobody's POV:

"Goooood morning countries!"
Ethiopia (the teacher) enters the classroom elongating her voice in a cheery tone.

"I see you have all noticed the new seating plan! Good thing too - you'll need it for the rest of the year." she chuckles to herself.

Her colourful dress jingled with small beads as she swayed without intention while explaining the lesson plan. ( clothing reference at the end of the chapter)

"We'll . settle. this. at. break."

Australia heavily  breathes through still vaguely bared teeth  in a faint accent- attempting to calm his temper.

With deep,
Heavy,
Breaths.

Serbia is still grinning like a lunatic and recedes into the shadows once more.
