Sean had returned to the flat with a fist full of blood. That had left Marian in a panic, but he was quick to say it was nothing, that there was no one there, that it was just an accident.
He headed towards the bathroom to wash the bloody fist, and Lexi decided she would follow her husband. She wasn't confident about her stomach, but she knew something like that wasn't caused by a simple accident.
— What happened? — she asked softly, after closing the bathroom door.
They were alone, Sean washing the wound with water.
— Nothing for you to worry about. — Sean murmured. — It's nothing.
— If it was nothing, then why did it take you so long? I was almost...
— When we have a child... — Sean interrupted her. — Can we call him James?
She frowned, and that would have made her angry because it seemed like Sean was trying to avoid a fight by bringing up a random topic, but looking at her husband's face through the reflection of the dirty mirror, Lexi understood he wasn't running away from anything.
On the contrary: he would stay so they wouldn't have to run anymore.
— Of course. — she said softly. — It's a nice name.
— It's not Irish, but... that shit doesn't matter anymore. — Sean grumbled.
Sean turned off the tap and the water stopped flowing. He continued leaning on the sink, his head low and his breathing heavy.
Hesitantly, Lexi placed a hand on her husband's back. She rubbed the area gently, realizing with some sadness that it seemed like she hadn't done that in ages, but she had stopped talking to Sean just a few hours ago.
After so many days together, sharing the bed, with Sean holding her every night, comforting her after her nightmares... how the hell did he expect her to be without him?
— I love you. — she said softly, tears falling again, while her face rested on Sean's back. — I wish I didn't love you as much as I do, because it would be so much simpler. Heavens! It would be so much simpler if our marriage had been like our parents'.
— Don't say that.
He turned around and pulled her close. First, he wiped away the tears with the hem of the shirt he was wearing, and then he kissed her on the lips. It felt like an eternity since they had done that, so they took their damn time.
Sean's hands roamed her body with desire. He squeezed Alexandra's bottom and lifted her onto the bathroom sink.
Marian was in the living room, probably waiting for them impatiently, but they didn't care. They couldn't give a damn about Marian.
Sean lifted her skirt. His fingers running over the woman's warm thighs in front of him, her legs locked around his waist as he busied himself with kissing her, spreading marks on her neck and chest, as well as the ample breasts exposed by the button-up shirt.
Lexi had to hold back her moans. It felt like an eternity since her husband had had her, but it hadn't even been two damn days.
When his mouth wasn't on hers anymore, but on her wet and warm center, she thought she couldn't hold back the moans anymore. Damn Marian, why did she always have to be so inconvenient?
— Sean... — she said the man's name. — Please... please...
She just wanted him to end the torture session. She wanted to feel him inside her one last time, because she had no idea when she would be with her husband again - she tried not to think about the possibility that maybe she would never be with Sean again.
