Lexi stood front of an old, familiar house thinking about all the times she'd imagined herself heading back to London, seeing Billy, her godparents, and people who'd been left behind for years. However, as weeks turned to months and months to years, she got used to the idea of not living in London anymore and even getting back ever again.
Althought when she got Billy's message about Finn's death, she didn't have to put much thought about what she had to do. Lexi bought the tickets, packed her stuff and left on the first available flight she could find.
Her parents couldn't attend the funeral. Her father was completly out of reach on a trip to Brazil's Pantanal, while her mother believed that it was best to stay in California since her dad couldn't go. Lexi attracted far less attention alone than accompanied by two middle-age retired Russians.
Of course people seemed a little bit curious about Lexi when she got out of the car and walked towards the Wallace's house. She was an unknown woman carrying a suitcase and right in front of the house the former leader of crime.
"Miss?" the caucasian man who wore a suit for the funeral occasion called Lexi "May I know your name?"
She hesitated. She didn't know whether or not she should give that man her name.
"Unnecessary, Mark" came a voice from behind her back "She's my goddaughter and Marian's. She lives in America, that's why you don't know her".
Lexi turned and realized it was Ed Dumani accompanied by his son and his daughter, Alex and Shannon, as well as a boy Lexi never got the chance to meet before she headed to United States.
"It's good to see you, darling" Ed said with a soft smile "You're all grown up".
"It's good to see you too, Uncle Ed. You look older".
Ed Dumani chuckled and pulled her into a brief hug.
"Lexi. Oh my God." Shannon said as soon as Ed realeased Lexi, Shannon pulled her in a warm hug. "I cannot believe it's really you".
"Believe, S. It's just me." Lexi said with a smile as she got to hold Shannon for a while.
After greeting Alex with a warm hug too, she was also introduced to Danny and then got into the house.
"Marian will be very happy to see you" Alex said keeping his voice in a low tone.
"I hope so. I didn't told anyone I was coming because I wasn't sure if I would get here in time for the funeral" Lexi said as she got out of her coat.
"How did you...?"
"Billy" She said with a smile and cutting Alex question.
"Oh. Of course."
Lexi watched as her godmother greeted Ed, Shannon and Danny. She felt a little bit anxious, first time realizing maybe Marian wouldn't be happy to see her again. The older woman was just telling the Dumanis to go to their old room when her eyes found Lexi's silhouette.
"Hi" Lexi said in a low tone.
Marian's put a hand to her mouth and her eyes just widened as she approach to and threw her arms around her into a tight and warm hugh.
"Oh God. My sweet girl. There you are"
Lexi smiled and stayed quiet, letting her godmother just hold her for as much time as she needed. When Marian pulled out, she said:
