--My POV—
I saw him sitting on the bed. Koda was in the middle of the bed. He lies down next to Koda while I sit down on a chair. 'You coming to bed?' he asked me. 'Yeah, I'll be there in a second.' He nodded and flipped to his side to watch Koda sleep.
I watch them as I start to think back into the day. He doesn't remember anything. Not even a little bit. I know it's only like what, day 4 but come on, he has to at least remember a little. How long is it going to take? Tears started forming in my eyes. I started to get sniffles too. I lean back into the chair, and rub my face to get rid of the tears.
I lean forward, face in hands, elbows on knees, tears coming down my face. I look up and I see Seth kneeing in front of me. He's whispering to himself, 'I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It's all my fault.' I wiped my tears away and said, 'it's okay. It's not your fault.' I cup my hand on his face, and he looks up at me.
Seth: yes it is. You are crying. I'm the reason you are in so much pain. I'm the reason why we have to go through this.
Me: but I'm the reason why you got hit by that car.
Seth: no, it was my fault.
Me: if it wasn't for me who was being stubborn for you to stop me to make me feel better and kiss me in the middle of the road, we wouldn't be in this position. It's my fault.
Seth: it's our fault.
Me: mostly mine.
Seth: ours. Come here to bed. We have to get our rest.
He stood up and offered me his hand. I took it and we walked back to the bed. He was on the left side, I was on the right side, and Koda was in the middle. Koda's head wasn't even on the pillows because he doesn't like pillows, so Seth's and my heads were just there. Before we closed our eyes, we looked at each other,
Seth: Good night. I know I don't remember why or how it feels like, but I love you.
Me: You figured it out once, you'll do it again. I love you too.
He kissed the top of my head and we fell asleep.
