Violet stands from the bed and opens her bedroom door, walking out into the living room where Harper was last seen.

"That was such a quickie, Vi. I could not have had an orgasm in that short amount of time."

"We weren't having sex, Harper. Anyway, do you know what Club Palace is?"

"Well, now I'm really confused."

"About what?"

"The running into your bedroom, the not saying hi to me, asking about Club Palace which is definitely not your type of place. You like to party but I don't think it would be your scene."

Violet takes a sip of Harper's red wine, with her permission of course.

"Club Palace is a club?"

Harper's eyes roll hard at Violet's sorta dumb question.

"Well, yeah, that's fucking obvious, babe."

"Do you know who owns it?"

"Oh, no, I don't know but there's a shit ton of lore about the past owner. You're gonna need to sit for this one."

Violet does so, also grabbing a handful of Harper's popcorn. I sit down at the edge of the couch, feeling slightly like I'm impeding on girl talk even though I have everything to do with this conversation.

"The exact timeline is weird since no one truly knows it. But it was a while ago I think. The past owner was apparently into some sketchy, illegal practices. Club Palace, in Grove Heights, was sort of a front that the owner could send money through or something so he looked less suspicious.

"But people knew what he was doing. He wouldn't get in trouble though cause he had people on the police force to protect him or something. Suddenly, the club was starting to collapse and still no one knows where the owner went. I think he's dead but whatever."

That seems to match the story of the message from Kai's place.

"Do you have any idea what the owner's name might be? The past one," I ask Harper, hoping to get more helpful information out of her.

"Nah. And even if you asked, I don't think anyone would tell you. People that work there are still loyal to him, in my opinion. They're pretty tight-lipped around there."

Harper is about to turn back to Sex and the City when Violet asks her an actually great question.

"So, how are you able to get into Club Palace?"

"You know me, I can get in anywhere."

"I was looking for a more specific answer."

"I'm friends with some of the guys on the security team. They work at other clubs in Grove Heights too, so I see them around."

"Think you could get any more information out of them?" I ask, even though I know the answer already.

"Definitely not. I'm not ruining that relationship because you two want information about the past owner."

That's what I figured.

I nod my head in understanding because I do get it. There have been some moments in my Devil's Rose MC career that I've decided it's better to not ask questions for the sake of a relationship. Sometimes it's better to just keep quiet.

"I can show you where it is though. That wouldn't be a big deal. Violet can certainly get in there, and so can her plus one."

"What are you talking about, Harp?" Violet questions with a tilt of her head.
