"You look good. Calm down." Ming rolls her eyes at Onika who wouldn't stop fidgeting. It was prom night and as expected her sisters nerves had began to catch up to her.

She's never attended prom before, usually opting to sit back at home watching re-runs of Netflix series than standing awkwardly in school by herself.

"Don't you think it's a little too much?" Onika asks looking over at her dress in the mirror once more.

She was dressed in a purple coloured gown which she, her mom and sister had picked out the week before. Carol couldn't be there for her first prom to take pictures and what not so she'd made up for it by spending a girls day with them to pick out dresses.

Onika had gone with a light purple since that was the colour she and Beyoncé were going for. She'd ditched the glasses for contacts and had let Ming curl her hair and apply a light layer of makeup on.

Truly, she felt different about herself but a good kind of different.

"Calm down, the dress is beautiful you know this. There's no need to be nervous." Ming says but stayed focus typing on her phone.

Onika just nods knowing that she wouldn't even see her as she breathes out a sigh, she couldn't help but have this underlying feeling that something was going to go wrong.

She knew she shouldn't be thinking that way but really she couldn't shake it off, instead of focusing on that though she decides to just brush it off as her being nervous.

Ming's date picked her up first leaving Onika at home to wait for Beyoncé, they would meet up at school later.

She couldn't help but pace around the room as she glanced over to the clock every few seconds. It wasn't until a few minutes later that she heard the sound of the doorbell ringing which causes her to let out a breath she knew she was holding.

Why she was so nervous, she couldn't understand.

She grabbed her purse and took one last precautionary look in the mirror before making her way to the front door where she shyly opens it to see Beyoncé standing there with a wide smile on her face and a bouquet of red roses.

She looked stunning in her purple tight fitting dress. Her blonde hair was slicked back, revealing her bright smile. Onika's heart skipped a beat—as corny as it sounded— as she took in the sight of her.

"You look amazing," Beyoncé says taking in her appearance, her voice barely above a whisper which has Onika blushing like a middle schooler in love.

"You look beautiful too," She replies as Beyoncé hands over the bouquet of roses to her.

As they drove down the not too long journey to her school Onika couldn't help but smile to herself, she was going to prom with the person she's liked since forever, and she knew that this night would definitely be one to remember.

The school building came into view soon after. Nicki took a deep breath in and Beyoncé sensing her nervousness, took hold of her hands drawing light circles on it.

"I promise you're gonna have fun, I'm gonna be with you throughout." She smiles looking into her eyes.

Onika only nods in response, as they both got out the car and walked into the school building. She would try her very best to have fun and let loose.

As both girls walked down the halls they could hear the music blasting, as they walked hand in hand to the gym where the party was being hosted. Onika with a shy smile on her face and Beyoncé buzzing with excitement.

Walking in they looked around the room, seeing different people dancing around, a few loners by themselves and some teachers supervising.

The first person to walk up to them was Kelly who had a wide smile on her face looking as beautiful as ever, "Hey!" She smiles looking between both girls with a smirk.
