My Little Secret (Ginny Weasley x Draco Malfoy)

Chapter 13

I woke up the next morning tired and grumpy. After seeing the second message on the wall, my brain couldn't stop thinking about it. I wondered all night about what it might mean. I should ask Harry and Ron about it. 

I get dressed and walk down the dining hall for breakfast. I was going to sit with Ron and Harry, but they were nowhere to be found. I start to butter up a piece of toast when they come speeding into the dining hall and quickly sit across from me. 

"So? What's all the commotion?" I ask while they look at a small scrap of paper in Harry's hand. 

"She's done it," whispered Ron. 

"Done what?" I say. Even though I doubt they can even hear me over their thoughts. 

Harry finally looks up at me, realizing I have no idea what is going on. 

"We went to visit Hermione in the hospital wing this morning, and her hand was grasped around a small slip of paper." Harry holds it up. Then he starts to read it out loud. 

"Of the many fearsome beasts and monsters that roam our land, there is none more curious or more deadly than the Basilisk, known also as the King of Serpents. This snake, which may reach gigantic size and live many hundreds of years, is born from a chicken's egg, hatched beneath a toad. Its methods of killing are most wondrous, for aside from its deadly and venomous fangs, the Basilisk has a murderous stare, and all who are fixed with the beam of its eye shall suffer instant death. Spiders flee before the Basilisk, for it is their mortal enemy, and the Basilisk flees only from the crowing of a rooster, which is fatal to it."  

"Wait, Harry flip it over?" said Ron. 

They flipped the small, torn piece of paper over and one word was scribbled on the back in Hermione's handwriting.

After a moment of silence, my brain churned. 

"So what now?" says Ron, clearly still thinking about what he just read.

"We go and tell Dumbledore," I say firmly. 

"Haven't you heard Ginny?" said Ron accusingly

"Dumbledore was taken out of Hogwarts. The 12 governors believe that he is not doing a good job being Hogwarts headmaster." 

"Oh well, that's just plain awful!"

after more contemplating about what the smartest next move was, Professor McGonagall suddenly stepped up to the podium and cleared her throat to get the student's attention Uh oh. What now?

"It has come to the attention of the school that the Chamber of Secrets has been opened. A student, Nevile Longbottom, we believe, has been locked in the chamber. Exams are canceled..." There was a weak cheer at that "and you will be sent home tomorrow. Until we figure out this predicament, Hogwarts is not safe."

The rest of the night, everyone had a sort of solemn mood. Hogwarts was not safe, we were leaving, for good. 

When I got to my dormitory, I put on my pajamas and sat in my bed, wondering what else could go wrong. I try to keep my mind off the Chamber of Secrets and so I go down to the common room, where most of Ravenclaw is hanging out, and play a few rounds of Exploding Snap with Cho and Luna. 

Suddenly, I see out of the corner of my eye as Padma comes into the common room, that Harry and Ron are sneaking around outside the dormitory. I stand up to see what they are up to. So I ran to the door while Cho and Luna looked at me strangely. 

I don't catch up in time and so Harry and Ron are gone. Breaking rules as always. I sit back down with Luna and Cho and say nothing about what just happened. We continue the game as though nothing happened. 

After many games of Wizards Chess and Exploding Snap, the common room started to become more and more vacant, until it was just me and Luna, sitting on a large, blue, carpeted couch, both staring mindlessly into the hearth of the fire. 

After about a quarter of an hour, I hear Luna's tiny little snores coming from the other side of the couch. I look over to see her slumped over the side of the armrest, crochet needles on her lap. I was just getting up off the couch to help her to bed when I heard a small sound coming from the common room door. It sounds like someone is knocking quietly. 

I forget Luna and go over to the door to figure out who is making that sound. I slightly open the door so I can see out. I gasp loudly and run out to embrace the person. 

"Draco!" I say happily, while still hugging him tightly.

A sudden realization hits me. 

"Draco we are not supposed to be out here" I whisper into his ear. 

"I know beautiful," says Draco while combing my hair with his fingers. 

"But I have a little something for us," He says with a cheeky smile on his face. 

With that, I lean back out of our hug and look at his beautiful face. Blond, handsome, he's even breaking the rules to come and see me! Im in love with this guy. 

He grabs my hand with that beautiful smile on his face, and we walk off through the empty corridors. 

He leads me past a few teachers who are on the lookout, and finally, we reach a stone wall that looks completely normal. 

"Now Ginny," he says with his velvety soft voice, it makes me tingle every time he says my name.

"We are going to walk past this wall three times and think about our needs as of right now. Then, we are going to go into the room, that currently looks like a wall." 

I sounded strange but I did as he said and walked by three times with him, still holding hands, hoping that this was not all a joke. 

Suddenly, on the third lap past the wall, a small door appeared and Draco led me inside.

Nothing could have prepared me for something so beautiful. 

Sorry for taking so long to write this next chapter! I had a lot of testing but summer is almost here! Chapters will be coming out way faster than before with all this free time on my hands!
