"Do you care that there is a curfew out at all?" Derek asked the McCall girl that sat next to him in his Camaro. Sawyer rolled her eyes at the question. "No." "Of course not." Derek huffed. "We know what it is Derek. It's not like we're completely blind to what goes bump in the night, considering we're both part of that world." Sawyer told him. "Fair enough." He nodded as he pulled into the local Chinese restaurant.

"You know what you want?" "My usual." Sawyer told him. "Sesame chicken with egg drop soup and a fortune cookie." Derek rattled off. "Yes please!" She said as he went inside to order the food.

Sawyer got out, sitting on the back of the car as she watched the parking lot across the way, specifically, through one set of windows. "If you wanted to spy on your brother, all you had to do was ask." Derek said with a small smile as he noticed the sign as soon as they turned into the restaurants parking lot.

"I don't want to spy. I'm simply curious." "Because?" Derek asked a brow raised in question. "Because this is Scott's first girlfriend. I don't want him to blow his chances." Sawyer said with a look on her face. "He won't. He's a good kid. He's got a great mom and a great sister to teach him." Derek told her as she laid her head on his shoulder.

"You're a suck up Hale." Sawyer said and Derek scoffed. "Am not." "Are too!" Sawyer said pointing her finger. "What do I have to suck up for?" Derek asked. "A little buddy told me you liked me." Sawyer said and Derek froze. "What?" "It's not true right?" She asked. "N-no. Of course not." "Derek?" Sawyer asked as she saw that he wouldn't look her in the eyes.

"I used to have a crush on you in high school Sully, but we grew up." Derek told her. "Things happened." Sawyer mumbled. "We moved." Derek told her. "My abilities went haywire." Sawyer sighed. It was silent between the two for a moment before Sawyer looked over at Derek, her eyes trailing along the side of his face.

"So you really don't have any feelings for me?" Sawyer asked. "Not anymore." Derek said, a hesitant smile on his face, though Sawyer saw through it, she didn't say anything. "Okay." Sawyer said with a smile, as she leaned her head back on his shoulder.

"Foods probably done." Derek said as Sawyer lifted her head, the Hale going into restaurant.

Coming back out with the two bags, Sawyer's smile widened as she took in the bags. "Food!" She said as Derek laughed, the tense conversation before, put behind them.

Derek handed Sawyer her bag and she immediately stuck her face in the bag. "Smell good?" Derek asked. "Yes!" She mumbled, her voice muffled by the bag making the Hale chuckle. "We can eat back at your house." Derek told her and she nodded.

Getting in the car, Derek started it up, only to look down and realize he was basically on empty. "I gotta get gas first." He told her. "Oh! Do the food mart! They're the cheapest." Sawyer told him and he nodded. "Alright, the food mart it is." Derek said as he pulled out, and onto the road way.

Finding the gas station quickly he pulled in, and got out, though so did Sawyer. "I'm gonna go get some candy. Want some?" Sawyer asked. "Sure. Just a snickers." Derek said and she laughed. "Sully!" "Your not you when your hungry." Sawyer laughed out, making Derek chuckle. "Just get me the damn candy bar." Derek said, shaking his head at his friends craziness and Sawyer nodded, headed inside, still laughing to herself.

Grabbing two Kit Kats and a package of rolo's, she looked up seeing two SUV's pull in behind and in front of Derek's car. Grabbing Derek's snickers, Sawyer practically threw the candy bars up on the counter. "Just these please." She said as the cashier rang her out.

"Thanks." She said as she grabbed the receipt, rushing out the door. "I got your snicker's!" She said deliberately loud as she neared the car, pausing when she saw who was nearest the red SUV. Allison's father. Chris.

A fuzzy feeing made its way into her stomach as their eyes connected. "Chris, hi!"  Sawyer said as she waved. Chris's eyes widened slightly as he looked between the two, though he smiled back at her. "Sawyer. How are you?" "Good! Got some Kit Kats so I just got better." She told him with a laugh and he smiled.

"Do you two know each other?" Sawyer asked innocently as she looked between Derek and Chris. "Uh, yeah. Just acquaintances, your boyfriend-" "Best friend." Sawyer corrected and Chris smiled, "Your best friend and I go back a little bit. Our families knew each other." Chris told her as Sawyer smiled, though she knew the truth, she was trying to keep herself and Scott safe.

"That's so interesting! Derek, why didn't you ever tell me that?" Sawyer asked the male who was glaring at the hunter and Sawyer began to feel bad. "Didn't come up, sorry Sully." Derek told her gruffly, the playful batter between them gone.

"You know that's a nice ride. Don't think you had that last time I saw you." Chris said as he stepped closer, grabbing the window washer on his way to them, "Black cars though, very hard to keep clean. I would definitely suggest a little more maintenance." The Hunter suggested as he roughly got a few stuck on spots off of specifically the passenger side part of the windshield.

Sawyer's head started to pound as she stepped backward with Chris's advances. Derek placed her body between himself and the car. "Derek, my head." She whispered as the Hale tried to comfort her as much as he could.

"You have something this nice, you want to take care of it, right? Personally, I'm very protective of the things I love. That's something I learned from my family. You don't have much of that these days, do you?" Chris asked as Sawyer gasped.

They all turned towards her to see a stream of black blood leak out of her nose, the girl furiously whipping at it.

Grabbing a few paper towels from the dispenser, meant to clean windows, Chris handed them to her. "Here." He said as he watched her. She tried to keep her eyes off of him, as her heart beat in her chest a mile a minute, butterflies erupting in her stomach at the small action.

What the hell is happening?

Sawyer thought to herself as she tried to stop the bleeding. Derek's hands clenched into fists, though Sawyer placed her hand on his back. "Don't, it's not worth it." She whispered, though everything about her contradicted her words.

His hands unclenched and Chris smiled, "There we go." Placing the window cleaner back in the solution, he gestured to the windshield. "You can actually look through your windshield now. See how that makes everything so much clearer?" Chris asked and Sawyer nodded, not even realizing she was doing the action.

"You forgot to check the oil." Derek's voice seemed to snap Sawyer out of what ever trance like state she was in. With his words it's was like a flip was switched, the butterflies were gone, and now rage burned with in her for the man in front of them. "Derek!" She hissed. "You heard the man. Check his oil." Chris said as he looked to the other two men, then glanced to Sawyer, taking a step towards her. Derek growled lowly but Sawyer placed her hand on his arm. "What are you doing with the supernaturals Sawyer?" Chris asked.

"Supernaturals?" She asked surprised and Chris's eyes went wide, causing the two men to stop,  as she began to chuckle. "I know, Chris. I know about him, and about you. I know more than you would probably like me too." She told him as she stepped around Derek, now bold.

"And what's that?" Chris asked. "You're gonna have to find that out on your own." She smirked at him, taunting him. "Is that right?" He asked, a gleam in his eye. If there was one thing what Chris Argent loved more than hunting, it was puzzles. He would figure Sawyer McCall out. "Have fun Mr Argent." Sawyer told him as she walked back to Derek.

"Let's go back home." Sawyer told the Hale as she climbed into the Camaro.
