Back at the McCall house, Sawyer sat at the table, a fork fluffing up her rice, not truly eating it.
"What was that back there?" Derek asked her. "I don't know." "What do you mean you don't know?" Derek asked. "I don't know!" Sawyer shouted, "I had this wave come over me, like, I don't know, love? Lust? I don't fucking know, Derek!"
"His family killed mine Sully!" Derek hissed. "I know!" Sawyer growled back, then fell back in her chair. "What?" "Oh my god." "What!" "That's so gross!" "What, Sully?" "It was Scott!" Sawyer shouted in disgust, her nose curled up as her stomach churned. "Scott?" "Something happened to him. Something- big." Sawyer said as her face turned a shade paler. "Big like- big?" Derek asked. "Enough to affect me emotionally, yeah."
"Allison." Derek said, remembering their date. "I swear to god, if I felt him get la-" "Let's not think about that." Derek said, his eyes avoiding her like the plague.
⚠️ Talk of Withdrawal ⚠️
"How am I supposed to control this?" Sawyers asked, freaking out, slowly starting to scratch at her skin. "We'll figure it out Sully." "No. The last time this happened it was too much." Sawyer said as she scratched harder. "The last time? What do you mean the last time?" Derek asked her, but it seemed to be too late. Sawyer was too far deep.
Her eyes were wide, her pupil blown, as her nails drew blood from her skin. "Too much. It's too much." She mumbled as she slowly rocked back and forth.
"Sully?" Derek asked as he got up, pulling the girl from the chair and into his lap on the floor, holding her arms down so she couldn't hurt herself.
"Too much" she said as she started to cry. The crying turned into sobbing, that turning into screaming that hurt the wolves ears, that he knew she could feel by the small bit of blood that ran from her own ears.
"Sawyer!" Derek called out, but it didn't seem to deter her, the screaming and crying out continued, then all of a sudden, stopped.
⚠️End⚠️
"Sully." "They burned." She said sadly, her voice cracking as Derek froze, realizing whose emotions she was reliving. His families. His families emotions, their very last emotions were what sent Sawyer over the edge. She felt every last one of them.
"They burned." Derek repeated, his head spinning. Not only because of the events of what just happened, but because of events that had occurred prior.
The night Derek had found Sawyer in her apartment, the words "They Burned" were written multiple times.
Were they connected to Sawyer? His family? Even beyond the grave? Laura had told her before they left that even though they had passed, they would still protect her. Was that what was happening now? Was Sawyer connecting with the spirits of his family? It was impossible. He'd never heard of such a thing. But then again, he had never heard of an empath until Sawyer.

"Bunny?" Melissa asked as she walked in the house, only to hear nothing. "Baby?" Melissa asked as she got to Sawyer door, only to find a note.
Went to bed early. There's Chinese in the fridge
"Okay." Melissa said as she headed back down the hall. To get undressed. Placing on her pajamas and robe, Melissa went to check in on her son. "Hey Scott, I'm gonna go to-" She said stoping midway through as she peaked into his room, room only to find it dark and empty. "Sleep." Melissa said, a sigh coming from her mouth. "Seriously." She whispered to herself, but stopped as she heard a thud.
