Preface

Strange things had been happening to a brunette girl pretty much since the day she was born. Just recently had stranger things started to happen.

A young brunette girl played with her toys, in the middle of a living room. Her happy giggles quickly turned to cries of pain as a man rushed in.

"Sawyer, what happened?" The man asked as he inspected the toddler, a single small cut on her finger, similar to a paper cut, was to blame for the crocodile tears.

"Oh bunny it's okay. Let's put a bandage on it okay?" The elected sitter asked bringing out Minnie Mouse bandages. "Will bunny make it better?" The sitter asked as he held up the stuffed toy. The toddlers chocolate brown eyes seemed to light back up, giggles leaving her mouth once again as she reached for the stuffed rabbit. "Bunny!" The toddler yelled excitedly, the mystery cut long forgotten.

When the toddlers mother came to pick her up, a woman answered the door. "Talia, hello. I was expecting Peter." Melissa smiled, happy to see her friend. "Got back a day early." The woman smiled, "Mel? What happened to your finger?" "Oh, just another hazardous day loading the printer." The nurse chuckled showing her battle wound that was wrapped in a bandage, similar to her daughter. "Huh, well I guess it could have been worse." The woman said waving the mother and daughter off.

A four year old Sawyer was helping her mother cook, specifically playing in the batter, though she was supposed to be covering the Oreos.

"Bunny, your supposed to be coating the cookies, not yourself!" Melissa chuckled as she saw her daughter covered in batter. "Sorry mommy." The girl apologized. "I think we both are gonna need a bath after this." Melissa smiled as the grease in the pan popped, stinging Melissa on the arm. "Ouch!" She yelped as Sawyer screamed out in pain.

Panicking, Melissa shut off the grease, attending to her daughter. Raphael heard the scream and came down the stairs. "What's going on?" He asked.

"Did it get you?" Melissa asked her daughter and the teary eyed girl shook her head at her mother, holding out her arm, that had the same red splatter pattern of grease burns that Melissa sported on her own arm. "That's strange." Melissa commented looking between her own arm then her daughters with furrowed brows.

"Raf, does this look the same to you?" Melissa asked her husband, holding her arm close to her daughters.  "They just look like splatter marks. You know what makes booboos feel better?" Rafael asked his daughter who looked at him. "What daddy?" The girl asked as her head tilted in question. "Ice cream!" Rafael cheered as he picked up his daughter, Sawyer squealing in delight at the thought of the frozen treat. "Not too much, it's close to dinner time." Melissa spoke. "Your we're frying Oreos Mel." He retorted. "So." The woman retorted sticking her tongue out at her husband.

An seven year old Sawyer laid in bed, sick. "Mommy!" Sawyer called as she bolted to the bathroom, throwing up. "What baby?" Melissa asked rubbing her protruding stomach. "I don't feel good." Sawyer cried as she heaved. "It will be okay baby, let's try some peppermint tea yeah?" Mel asked her. "Okay." Sawyer nodded, climbing back into bed.

Melissa came back into the room with a cup of peppermint tea, her face almost turning green at the smell. "Mom?" Sawyer asked noticing her mother's discomfort. "Your brother doesn't like the smell apparently." Melissa joked, trying to keep her lunch down as she sat on the side of her daughters bed. Sawyer curled around her mother, placing her head on Melissa's lap. "You be nice Scotty." Sawyer said to her mothers stomach and Melissa laughed. "He is going to hate that name, you know?" She asked her daughter. "Well I'm his big sister, it doesn't matter if he likes it or not." Sawyer said.
