A/N

This takes off from the last chapter.

Now, there is a lot of boring info I had to put in this chapter regarding the procedures Larry need to follow in order to get Saxon back. Now I have explained them in detail. However, I have time jumped over them "completing" it, in order to save time. Otherwise this story will end up being 300 chapters. 🤣

Sorry I know those parts are boring but I really needed to explain them all, so you understood the time frame it took and the extent of how hard it was to prove themselves.

🚨🚨TRIGGER WARNING🚨🚨

This chapter delves into the procedures of child protective services (CPS) . If you are triggered by child separation or the law system for fighting to get children back into your care, please read with caution or skip chapter.

Also please note, I am not a professional in this field of work. All info was sourced from google and was used in conjunction to the way I needed it to work in order for it to fit my story. Therefore "facts" and "info/ procedures/ times" are not 100% accurate.

🚨

'Our journey apart was just a chapter in our lives. A reunion will sure mark the beginning of a rocky reconciliation, but a very beautiful ending...one can only hope.'

🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨

Reign had just received a massive folder from an officer, providing him with more information on the case. Louis was relieved to hear that progress was being made, but it all seemed to be happening so quickly.

Louis requested that Reign reiterate his previous statement at a slower pace and in a manner he could better understand. The excessive use of complex terminology was causing confusion and hindering his ability to grasp the significance of the information being conveyed.

"Sorry. Let me rephrase it all for you. So, here in the UK, if a child has been missing for years and is then found, there is a detailed process to ensure the child's well-being and to facilitate the reunion with their parents. Hmm, alright let me break this down into steps for you."

However, Louis maintained his focus on Reign, determined in his commitment to executing each step with precision, because he was prepared to undertake any necessary actions to ensure the safe return of their son. Normally, Louis would feel stupid to have someone talk to him this way. However, under the present circumstances, he finds it rather comforting. If only Harry could refrain from casting anxious glances in his direction every few seconds and focus on the task at hand, it would be even more beneficial.

"So, first up is a medical examination, but we have already been over this. Health check was all good. There were no signs of abuse or neglect. The mental health evaluation as I also stated before will be undertaken soon. A psychologist or psychiatrist will evaluate the child's mental state to identify any psychological trauma and immediate mental health needs. Now..."

Reign rifled through his folder, searching intently for a specific document. After a few moments, he sighed and stopped, realising it wasn't there.

"It appears that I do not currently have this information available and I will need to consult with another colleague to obtain the details, but I can confirm that Saxon has been placed in protective custody. To the best of my knowledge, he will temporarily reside in a residential care facility designed for emergency situations with one of our most trusted organisations. There he will stay until further notice."

Should that comfort Louis? Is it supposed to? Because it doesn't. Or maybe it does, but the sting remains, knowing his boy is alive, safe, and well, yet still out of reach.
