Name: Sofia Corcoran
Age: 15
Parents: Elizabeth Gillies + Michael CorcoranAs usual for a weekday morning, all three members of the Gillies-Corcoran family were rushing around the house. Liz had a day on set filming for Dynasty, Michael had producer meetings all day and Sofia had school.
Michael was stood in the kitchen making a coffee for himself and laying out waffles for Sofia's breakfast. He was almost finished when Liz came running down the stairs, stilettos in hand and both arms full of make up and paperwork, with a slice of peanut butter toast in her mouth.
"Have you seen my phone charger?" Liz yelled to her husband around the food in her mouth.
Finding her incredibly amusing, he smiled and said nothing, pointing to the kitchen table where her handbag was emptied everywhere. Liz gave him a thumbs up before dumping everything in her hands onto the table and sighing.
"This is what happens when you insist on a thirty minute shower." Michael tuts humorously as she walks over to him.
"Very funny." Liz rolls her eyes, taking a sip of his coffee and grabbing a bottle of water from the refrigerator.
"I'm surprised you didn't evaporate in that shower, you know." Michael jokes, kissing the side of her head.
"Whatever. Have you seen Sofia yet this morning?" Liz asks, taking the lunch box out of the refrigerator for their daughter.
"Not yet. You did wake her up, didn't you?" Michael checks.
"Yeah, I did. I've got to finish getting ready though." Liz says, grabbing her jacket and sliding it on as she runs back up the stairs.
Just as Michael is looking for his car keys, a loud clap of thunder from outside echoes through the house. Knowing his wife and daughter's weather phobias, he realises the day could pretty much be ruined before it had properly started.
"Dad."
Michael looks up and sees Sofia hovering on the stairs.
"Hey, good morning." Michael smiles. "There's waffles and fruit for you on the breakfast bar."
"I don't want to go to school, dad." Sofia murmurs, slowly walking down the stairs.
"You're still in your pyjamas, Sof. Are you ill?" Michael asks concerned, hugging Sofia.
"No. It's storming, though." Sofia mumbles into his chest.
"It's not storming yet. There was only one thunder clap so it'll probably clear up soon." Michael tries to comfort the teenager.
"I don't think so." Sofia shakes her head.
"You'll be okay." Michael kisses her hair.
"Please can I just stay home?" Sofia asks looking up at him.
