Once Adam and Becca split up, Adam and Liz started their relationship a few weeks after Dynasty wrapped up. It took a while for Lily to warm up to a new mother figure but when Liz moved in, things ran a little smoother.

Breakfast time on Saturdays became the best moments for all three to catch up properly; Liz and Adam's work schedules clashing with each other and with Lily's school and clubs timetables through the week. And that was how they ended up sitting together at the kitchen table with pastries, fruit and cereals between them all.

"What do you want to do today, Lils?" Adam asked, pouring Liz a second cup of decaf oat milk coffee.

"I can choose?!" Lily asked excitedly.

"Yep, whatever you want." Adam smiled, knowing that the following day Lily would go over to her mom's and Adam and Liz wouldn't see her for another four days.

"Can we go shopping?" Lily asked, not waiting for an answer before continuing. "I want a dress exactly like Liz's one!"

"I don't think your dad would approve of that, Lily." Liz laughed, thinking of the blood red, low cut bodycon dress that Lily had seen her in the other day before date night with Adam.

"Not a chance." Adam shook his head in agreement with Liz.

"We can still find you a nice red dress. Just not one that you'd wear to a club." Liz told her and Lily nodded.

"What's this dress for?" Adam asked, slicing a strawberry in his hand before one half.

"It's for our back - to - school disco at school next week. Ellis is going to be there and he said he'll look out for me." Lily explained, mentioning the boy in her class for the second time that morning.

"Ohhh, I see. If Ellis wasn't going then you could turn up in your jeans and sneakers." Liz teased her playfully.

"Exactly, Liz!" Lily sighed, appreciating that someone finally understood her thinking.

"Well, let me tell you that if someone is only going to look at you when you're all dressed up, then they're not worth dressing up for." Liz smiled sympathetically at the young teenager.

"It's true. When Liz and I first got together, we were wearing sweatpants and fluffy socks." Adam reminisced, kissing the side of Liz's head.

"Yeah but that's because you're old." Lily said mindlessly.

"Old?!" Liz gasped.

"You know what I mean." Lily shrugged.

"We'll finish breakfast and then we can go shopping." Adam suggested and both Liz and Lily nodded.

A short while later when Adam and Liz were clearing up, Adam's phone rang. He had his hands in a sink of soapy water so Liz glanced at the screen to see who was trying to contact him.
