Name: Haisley Gillies - Huber
Age: 16
Parents: Elizabeth Gillies + Adam HuberWatching their daughter grow up had been both a blessing and a curse. While they loved to watch her learn and develop, they also wanted the time to stand still. Particularly when Haisley started to really lean into her teenage years.
The front door opened and then the sixteen year old burst through the kitchen door to where her parents were sat having coffee together. They looked up at her, half amused and half apprehensive for whatever she was about to say.
"A new girl joined our math class today and she's so fit."
"So ask her out." Liz shrugged.
"Mom, you don't understand!" Haisley exclaimed dramatically.
"You really don't." Adam shook his head at Liz.
"Just tell her you think she's cute and ask her to dinner." Liz said simply.
"Oh my god, mom! How are you so calm about this?" Haisley asked, clearly getting herself worked up.
"What's the big deal?" Liz laughed.
"Mom, I have to ask her out before someone else does! She's so gorgeous and she's so funny and she's really sweet." Haisley gushed.
"Aww." Liz smiled.
"Sounds like this is more than a little crush." Adam teased.
"Dad, I need advice. How did you win mom over?" Haisley asked curiously.
"I didn't really need to win her, you know. I just made a couple of my signature moves and she melted to a puddle." Adam said nonchalantly.
"Please, that is not what happened." Liz stared at him.
"What did happen then?" Adam asked challengingly.
"I asked you to help me with a self tape and things just went from there. There were no 'signature moves', Adam." Liz rolled her eyes.
"Oh really? So you don't remember me grabbing you by the waist and-"
"This isn't helping!" Haisley huffed.
"Why can't you just tell her how you feel?" Liz asked.
"Tell her how I feel? Mom, are you crazy?" Haisley's eyes widened at the suggestion.
"What is all the fuss for?" Liz asked with a laugh.
"I can't just tell her how I feel! I have to be subtle but also direct." Haisley told her.
"Just take her to see a movie or something." Liz said.
"A movie? Mom, do you have no idea how lesbians work?!" Haisley sighed.
"I can't say I'm experienced in the lesbian department, no." Liz shook her head and Adam laughed.
"Haisley, maybe you should text her a little and get to know her and then you could ask her out on a casual date to start with." Adam suggested.
