"Come on New York! Smile!" Texas laughed drunkenly, putting her arm around her sister's neck and drank deeply from her illegal bottle of whiskey from a make shift bar.The outgoing blonde was giggling madly, knocking money off the table as her face was flushed redder than a tomato. Her blue eyes were glazed over, trying to hug New York but the serious older sister was having none it.
"No Texas, now piss off." New York growled lowly and pushed away drunkenly from her sister.
"Ohhhh you're no fun!" Texas giggled like a kid before she threw herself onto her older sister again as they both fell down together.
"Damnit Tex, you know how much this suit cost ME?!" The two had been drinking at the bar all night since to celebrate their first successful bootlegging job in the Big apple.
The girls had spent their whole summer working on this as they had great moonshiners in the upper Appalachians.
The Colorado sisters. Colorado, Maryland, and West Virginia may have been mountain folk but they were far stupid.
Colorado was head moonshiners, she handled all the distilleries in the mountains from New York to Virginia.
Maryland was brains, a lawyer as she handled the deals as tens of thousands of thirsty people wanted a stiff drink and people would pay out the nose for it.
West Virginia was the muscle, she only trusted her sisters and treated everyone else like an outsider. She had a bad attitude and was one mean drunk. Cross her or her sisters she'd buried you in those woods so deep no one would ever find you.
So it was perfect, they were just the right pair, but not the only pair...They could take whatever money they needed and see places most will never see.
They could be the next big thing in bootlegging and make thousands of dollars in profit every day. Suddenly the door opened as California and Tennessee stumbled in drunk. The pair of of blonde haired sisters were the best drivers you'd ever seen.
Both their skin was Sunkissed, California's hair was so curly you could bounce a newborn off it and Tennessee's long and straight hair that most folks wouldn't think of them as sisters. But the two worked like pinions in a car, they moved everything from the bootlegging operation to the distillery, to the warehouses.
They would drive the booze in from the Colorado's to Texas and New York H.Q. who would deliver to speakeasies all over the city. As soon as the two spotted each other they immediately started talking about the success and plans for the next mission.
"Hehehehe New York!" Texas said with a drunken laugh, she pulled herself up and sat down on the bar stool next to her older sister.
"Yes Tex?" New York replied curtly, her green eyes narrowed and glared into her sister's soft blues.
"I'm gonna get us some more whiskey!" Texas danced excitedly.
"Don't you dare!" New York yelled as her sister grabbed another bottle of whiskey from a shelf behind the bar.
"Don't worry New York, I'll keep my eye on your money and make sure none of those dummies try anything stupid." Tennessee winked as she took a swig of the whiskey. New York sighed and shook her head in defeat, she wasn't looking forward to the next few hours and definitely not tomorrow.
"I'm going to bed, try keeping the noise down, yeah?" New York muttered.
With that the tired gangster left the bar and headed to her room, her mind was filled with thoughts of their newfound business. She entered her room and frowned deeply.
"Texas, why are you such an idiot?"
New York wondered as she stepped into the bathroom and turned the light on. A large mirror hung above the sink. Her dark, brooding reflection stared back at her with a distasteful look. She looked exhausted, her black hair was unkempt and frizzy under her bowler hat. Her emerald green eyes were bloodshot with dark circles surrounding them. There were bags under them too as she looked like a pale ghost.
"Noooo, not now..."
Suddenly the corners of New York lips began to curl upwards as she began to smile wildly at herself in the mirror, for some reason she hated this face, she hated it so much she never showed anyone but her sister.
An uncanny grin.
"We did it! We actually pulled it off!"
New York thought happily as pure joy washed across her face, laying down on her bed. For the first time in weeks, she felt free, she finally had the money and freedom to do whatever she wanted and no one could control her anymore. All because of that idiot sister of hers...
Texas.
