(27 ) A Promise and Unspoken Gratitude

Siya wakes up,

Warin becomes uncomfortable,

Siya : Were you saying something?

Warin : No, I wasn't saying anything. I was just saying that...

Warin : Look, I've brought fruits for you. Eat them, and you'll become healthy soon.

Siya : Mam, why was this necessary?
Siya interrupts, Why did you need to, mam? I'm already bored of eating fruits. I can't eat more.

Warin : It's okay.

Siya : Mam...

Warin : Yes, Siya , go on.

Siya : Um... nothing.

Warin : Do you want to say something?

( Siya hesitates, wanting to thank and apologize to Warin for her kindness, but finds it difficult.)

Warin : If you want to say something, you can.

Siya : Thank you (She says it suddenly and looks away.)

Warin : Well, you wanted to say thank you. What's making you so uncomfortable? Warin chuckles and doesn't press further.

Siya : Well, actually...

Warin : ( Warin quietly smiles and asks on purpose to tease Siya.) Hmmm, go on

(Siya wants to thank Warin for saving her life and caring for her, but she can't find the words, so she says )

Siya : You brought fruits for me.

Warin : Alright, now tell me, how are you feeling?

Siya : I'm feeling better than before, mam.

( Warin smiles but doesn't say anything.)

Warin : Okay, have these fruits. I came to check on you, but I need to leave soon.

Siya : Um... I need to use the restroom. The nurse isn't here. Can you help me?

(Siya wants Warin to accompany her to the restroom.)

Warin : No problem, I'll call the nurse.

Siya : I've been waiting for a while. It would be faster if you could take me. Will you?

Warin : ( Warin smiles.) Alright, I'll help you to the restroom.

(She starts assisting Siya)

(In the meantime, Miss Daral arrives. Warin notices her and says)

Warin : Miss Daral is here. Miss Daral, Siya needs to use the restroom.

Miss Daral: Where are you going, dear?

Warin : I was going to take Siya to the restroom.

Miss Daral: No problem, I'll take her.

(Warin says, "Okay," and Siya insists:)

Siya : No, Miss Daral, you just arrived. Please, have a seat. I will go with mam.

Miss Daral insists on taking Siya to the restroom, but Siya orders her to sit, surprising Miss Daral. She recalls how Siya used to scold her angrily in the past, and now, Siya's newfound comfort with Warin makes her believe that Warin might be the reason for this positive change. So, she agrees, "Alright, dear, you go with Warin."

Siya : ( responds hesitantly ) :Why do you think so, mam?

Warin :  Well, you didn't let her take you to the restroom just now, even though you didn't want her to come right after arriving. You may not show it, but I believe you are quite caring.
