The Journey

Kirstie's POV

We all decided that we wanted to have a road trip all round the 50 states! Who decide to take a few months out of recording and touring because we needed to spend time together as a group. We hired an old tour bus for 3 months to travel round the country. Esther was driving most of the time but we would split it between her, Avi and Kevin. We stared at New York and we will end back in Texas for a special one off concert! By that time I'll be starting to show and it will become obvious that I am pregnant but I will hide it for now.

When we got our bus in New York we decided who was getting each bed. I chose the one closest to Avi at the back end of the bus, Scott an Mitch too the beds closest to each other at the front and Kevin and Esther chose the middle two. I took my pjs out my bag and laid them on my bed. We decided to have McDonald's for tea as none of us felt up to anything any more substantial. We all sat at the huge table that took up the whole of the back 3rd of the bus and we sat and had our McDonald's.

I heard Avi singing right beside me but I couldn't make out what song he was singing. I looked down at my lap trying to concentrate on what Avi was singing and then I knew exactly what song he was singing.

"I can't believe that you are mine, you have no idea about the time I have spent chasing you. And now your in my arms. I am forever in awe"

Avi had shown us a song he has been working on for a while and he sang it to the whole group back home and I never really realised it was about me. I looked up at him and grabbed his face towards me and kissed him very passionately. I felt his hand cup my jawline and slightly around my ear with one finger resting on the front of my ear. I go crazy when someone does that to me. He reached over with his free hand and held my stomach. I held one of my hands on top and pulled away I looked at him dead in the eyes and said,

"Avi Kaplan, I love you."

Just then there were cheers from everyone around us at the table. I forgot we weren't alone. I turned around and now every one knew we were a 'thing'.

We decided to stop overnight in a service station to we all could sleep before the big journey a head of us. I woke up during the night cold and lonely so I decided to make a cup of tea. I gently stirred in the milk and put the spoon in the sink and say on the sofa I my phone. I went through some fan photos of some shows and my eyes began to fill up with tears. One gently spilled over my eye as I saw a picture of Avi looking at me with love in his eyes while I was singing. I am always completely oblivious to people watching me in that situation and seeing this photo makes me realise that I have someone who will support me through all of this.

Suddenly my heart beat picked up as I heard scratching and a click. Then I saw a slither of light coming from the door of the bus and a cold breeze followed it. Everyone was in there beds and I began to panic as I saw this big silohette walk up the stairs of the bus. I looked down and saw the figure had a Swiss Army knife. Probably what he used to break into the bus. I kept still. I was wearing mostly dark clothes so I wouldn't have been too noticeable. Then I remembered that Scott always keeps his phone under his pillow when are on tour. The intruder started to look around the drivers cab for what I presume was money or something valuable. Carefully I watched the inturuder and I phoned Scott his phone started buzzing under his pillow. The hooded figure didn't seem to hear it. I hung up as I saw the figure turn around sharply. He looked right at me. He started walking over to me. I couldn't see his face.

"Hello there beautiful. I just wanted money but the real prize is you." He walked over to me and brushed his finger across my face. His breath sank of alcohol and cigarettes.

"Get off me!" I smacked his hand away from my face. My heart beating faster and faster. I felt like it was beating in my ears as all I could hear was the beat. The man took his other hand and placed it on my thigh and started moving up inside my pj shorts. His hands felt rough and I was so scared of what was going to happen. Next thing I know he's at the waistband of my shorts and I only struggle to get him away from me. Thrashing under him as he starts to pull my shorts down. Suddenly he stops in his tracks and falls to the floor. Quickly I pull my shorts up and try to focus on why he's on the floor. I see Avi standing above the creep with a frying pan in his hand. He runs over to me and hugs me.

"Kirstie are you okay! I'm so sorry I wasn't here sooner!" He kissed the top of my head and I buried my face into his chest to muffle the sobs of sheer terror. Avi sat me down and calmed me down with some water while everyone else was attending to the knocked out drunk intruder. We sat for a couple of hours alone together.

I was still shaking violently as Avi held me in his arms and gently stroked my arms protectively.

"Avi. I was so scared. I didn't know what he was going to do. I couldn't hear anything and everything was blurry." I started crying again and Avi pulled me in closer.

"Shhh. As long as I am here you have nothing to worry about. No drunk creep is going to hurt you okay!"

"Okay" I looked up to his eyes and kissed him softly.

Scott came to the back of the bus to tell us that the man was drunk and he wanted to apologise for what he had done. Avi and I walked out to talk to the man.

"I am so sorry. I had too much to drink and I guess that I was in the wrong mind set. I just got fired and lost my girlfriend so everything is on top of me just now and I want to say that I am so sorry for what I did to you. I know you can never forgive me but know that I feel so guilty for what I have done."

"I forgive you." was all I could say before turning to Avi and going back to the bus. Avi told me that from now on I would be in his bed and if I need to get up I was to wake him. This man is my saviour and my knight in shining armour.

I'd be lost without him.
