I was being escorted to the platform by my parents and Lucius, though he was there mainly to glare at me. All three of them walked a great deal behind to avoid the embarrassment of being seen with me. I was drawn to the sound of rowdy boys being scolded. I knew it was them. "Sirius! James!" I yelled as I pushed my cart towards them. I eventually abandoned my cart so I could engulf them in hugs. "Remus, how could you have grown taller than me in a single summer!" I exclaimed as I used my hand to exaggerate the height difference. I looked back at my mum as she gave me the look to come here. "Cassandra, you shouldn't be meddling with someone of their...status" she said as the toxicity of her words dripped like venom off her tongue. "Status?" I asked her. "Blood traitors" Lucius hissed. I backed away from them. I gave him a dirty look. "You don't even know them" I argued. "And neither should you, you are a pure blood, don't let association muddy that" Father snapped. I looked at him in disgust. "I may be a pure blood, but I never will be a supremacist like you" I stated.
I saw fury in my father's eyes. "You are no daughter of mine" he hissed. "You act like I wanted to be" I fired back before turning and onto the train. I trusted that our house elf would load up my things. I immediately went looking for Lily, I had promised that I would sit with her over the summer. I was however grabbed and pulled into a compartment by none other than Sirius Black. "Could I ask what that was for Black?" I asked him aggressively. "Just wanting to sit with a friend Cass" he answered as I rolled my eyes. "I promised Lily I would sit with her" I said as James' eyes lit up. "Invite Evans, the more the merrier" James said as I scoffed. His schoolboy crush on her was getting old. "Fine, I'll ask her" I said as I left the compartment and walked down the aisle. I tensed up as I passed a compartment completely filled with Slytherins. One of them being the boy who fancies Lily, he's also the boy who James focuses his anger on. He gives me an extremely dirty look.
I eventually find Lily. She is laughing. Mary must've said something funny. I clear my throat and she turned to look at me. "Oh, Cass, have you been standing there long?" She asked with a soft smile. I smiled back. "Black wants me to sit with them. I said I would if you would join" I stated as she nodded curtly before grabbing her things and walking out of the compartment. "Lily!" Peter exclaimed as James whipped his head around to catch a glimpse of her. "Happy?" I asked Sirius sarcastically as I sat down next to him. I looked past him and gave Remus a quick smile. He had acquired more scars since last time I'd seen him. "Did you have a good summer Lily?" I asked as she nodded. "I hope you had the same?" She replied. My smile faded. Summers in Malfoy Manor were anything but happy. Sirius gave me a look. He has to go through the same thing. Though I heard Wallaburga isn't as gentle. "Have the skunk and your brother set a wedding date yet?" James asked as Lily gave him a rather nasty look. "No, just some time in the summer" I answered.
"I honestly don't plan on going" I said as I looked at Sirius. "Do you?" I asked him. "And miss a party?" He asked causing me to laugh. He always was able to get a giggle out of me. "I don't know if I'll even be welcomed there" Sirius added. I forgot. He was on the outs with his parents due to the difference of opinion on blood purity. I was on the same path. "You will be my plus one" I said as I looked at the rest of the people in the compartment. "You want to crash a pureblood wedding?" I asked as Remus and James snorted in objection. Lily just shook her head in disapproval. I chuckled as the train arrived to its destination.
