Shortly after Arcturus' birth Lily gave birth to her son. A boy she named Harry James Potter and it was time for them to go into hiding. "You promise to live long enough to see us again?" I asked Lily as she nodded. "I promise this isn't goodbye" Lily said as she looked at her husband who was holding their son. "This is simply see you later" James added. We hugged the Potters goodbye one last time and they were off. We waved them goodbye unaware that was the last time we'd see them alive. I put Carina to bed and then joined Sirius in our room. "Hey" Sirius said as he held our son and rocked him. "Hold still" I said as I snapped a photo. I was extremely grateful to see my husband holding our son. I knew another family in the order wouldn't have the opportunity to do so. The Longbottoms had been tortured into insanity. "You seem rather happy?" Sirius asked as I climbed into bed with him. "I'm just grateful" I said as Sirius kissed the top of my head. "You know the Longbottom boy is being looked after" Sirius assured me. I knew that.
"I know, but what if it was us instead of them? What would happen to them?" I asked my husband. "They would go to Lily and James" he stated. "And heaven forbid that he get to them?" I asked. "That won't happen." He stated. "Everything will be fine" he told me. I wish I could have believed him. But in the back of my mind was that lingering doubt. "I'm going to go check on Carina" I said as I kissed my husband and went to our daughter's room. I smiled at the girl as she slept peacefully. "Goodnight baby" I said as I rubbed her hair lightly and walked out of the room. "She asleep?" Sirius asked as he laid our son in the bassinet. "Out like a light" I said as I kissed our son's forehead. "I can't believe we made him" I said as I stroked his tiny face. "I cant believe it either" Sirius said as he patted the my side of the bed. "Come on to bed?" He suggested as I nodded. I climbed next to him and snuggled into his side. Resting my head on his chest. I wish we could have stayed here.
He rubbed my back and I eventually fell asleep. I slept the entire night, Sirius recognized my exhaustion and took over Arcturus' care that night. I was extremely grateful for him that morning. "Morning mummy!" Sirius yelled as I walked downstairs. I smiled as I walked over to Carina and kissed her head. I smiled at Sirius and kissed him before kissing the top of Arcturus' head as well. "He's getting too big" I said as I smiled at my son. "They both are" Sirius said as I walked and took a seat at the table. "Yummy?" I asked Carina as she shoved food into her mouth. "Yum!" She yelled back. I smiled as Sirius sat a cup of coffee in front of me. "Thank you" I said as I started to sip it. "Mine?" Carina asked as I shook my head. "Mumma's" I answered. "Maybe Dada will get you some juice?" I said as I raised an eyebrow at my husband. "Dada can do that" he said as he poured some juice for our daughter. "How are my niece and nephew?" I heard Remus yell as he came into the house. "Moony!" Carina yelled as she squirmed around wildly.
