"How long before they find us?" Ranu inquired, turning to a man with long grey hair and piercing yellow eyes.
"I cannot say, my king," the man replied solemnly. "Breath gates are not like ordinary magic. It could be days, weeks, or even months before they catch up to us."
Aandar cocked his head, perplexed by the explanation. "How so? Magic is magic, isn't it?"
Han emerged from a nearby shadow, cradling the newborn Daniel in his arms as he spoke. "Breath gates operate differently from other magical spells. They traverse realities and realms, making it nearly impossible to track their movements. How can you trace something that technically never existed in one reality, only to materialize in another?"
He handed the sleeping infant to Vaesamyr, continuing, "Furthermore, spells like breath gates leave no traceable exit signature. Only demons like myself, and beings akin to me, possess the ability to track such advanced magic."
"But that doesn't mean there isn't a chance of them finding us. Hopefully, we have covered enough distance," Ranu said calmly.
"If that's the case, then we'll have to stop them where they stand before they can bring harm to you or your child," Han replied, pulling a large sword-like device from his cape. Its blades formed a heart-like arch at the handle, and in the center was a spherical core radiating an aura of different colors. "Which is why I brought the Dragon Ark."
Everyone's eyes widened in horror and awe.
"A Dragon Break!?" Ranu exclaimed. "Han, we agreed never to use it!"
Han's cold black eyes turned to Ranu, his burning red irises and slit pupils locking onto him with a calm, collected gaze. "I never agreed, Ranu," Han said coldly, putting the artifact back into his cape where it vanished into the dark folds. "And if what you said is correct, we won't need to use it."
Aandar spoke up, "Do you know what that artifact is capable of!? The Dragon Break is a type of magic no one should possess!"
"Of course I do, I'm no fool." Han said coldly "The allied horde is working with the Death Scales," Han replied.
Everyone fell silent.
"Aedrynyr," Vaesamyr hissed with rage.
"Exactly," Han nodded. "That's why I brought the Dragon Ark. We cannot afford to be caught off guard. It is only meant to be used as a last resort."
Han gently approached Vaesamyr and took the now-awake Daniel back into his arms. The baby giggled and reached up to Han, who gently took Daniel's little hands. For a moment, everyone saw Han's gentle smile, like that of a loving older brother-a sight only a few had the pleasure of witnessing.
"But for now, we're safe," Han said, handing Daniel to Ranu, who held his son close. "We must get back to Hasari and the villagers. We can worry about this another time."

Daniel's eyes opened slowly, sunlight trickling into the room as birds chirped merrily outside.
"A dream?" he mumbled to himself. "That's new... I haven't dreamt in a long time."
He paused for a moment, his eyes scanning the room. It looked Gothic, with pink and black decor everywhere. It obviously belonged to a female. The bed was elegant, with immaculate blankets and a mattress. The bed itself was a large, coffin-shaped four-poster with heart-shaped pillows.
"Oh yeah, this is Draculaura's place," Daniel muttered, leaning up slightly and rubbing his eyes, followed by a yawn. The blankets were extremely comfortable, hugging him in a warm embrace. They were probably silk or some form of high-quality cotton with an obscene thread count. Draculaura was wealthy, so she could easily afford it. He wanted to go back to sleep, but today was his first day of school at Monster High.
