Varenya's POV:

I struggled against the firm grip with everything I had, twisting violently, digging my heels into the floor, and trying to pry the hand away from my mouth. Whoever it was barely budged. Every attempt to break free only tightened the hold around me, forcing a surge of panic through my veins.

My back collided sharply against the stranger's chest as I was pulled another step into the shadows. My breathing turned ragged with frustration.

Enough of this.

Without thinking twice, I did the only thing I could.

I bit down hard on the hand covering my mouth.

A sharp hiss escaped him.

His grip loosened just enough.

I immediately shoved his hand away and stumbled a step forward, spinning around with blazing eyes.

"Asshole! You ruined my lipstick," I snapped, wiping my mouth furiously with the back of my hand.

The words died on my tongue.

Towering before me, hands slipping calmly into his pockets as though nothing unusual had happened, stood-

Mr. Singhania.

"A... aap?" (You?)

For a brief second, I simply stared, my pulse still racing from the adrenaline. Of all the people I had expected to see, he wasn't even on the list.

His expression remained composed, though there was unmistakable irritation in his eyes.

"You've got a fucking habit of pissing me off, don't you?" His voice was low and controlled, every word measured yet edged with irritation.

Laced with something else, something-

Sinful.

I made a face, more out of shock than amusement.

"Excuse me?" I shot back, folding my arms despite my heartbeat refusing to settle. "You dragged me into a dark corridor and I'm the problem?"

I lifted my chin, refusing to let him see how rattled I actually was.

I was angry for a reason.

He regarded me in silence for a moment, his expression unreadable.

"You bite hard." he said evenly, glancing at the faint teeth marks on the back of his hand.

"You deserved worse."

"Perhaps." One corner of his mouth lifted almost imperceptibly. "But you're still the one who keeps creating trouble wherever you go."

This keeps him calm, controlled, and slightly playful without making the situation feel romanticized.

"And you should stop getting in my way." I replied, gathering every ounce of courage I had and meeting his gaze head-on, letting the last traces of professionalism disappear from my voice.
