Once we got to my house I had calmed down a lot, probably because of my oncoming headache. He parked his car outside of my house and waited for me to get out. I turned to look at him when I suddenly remembered something he said.

“Oh, Diego. Earlier, you said there was something you wanted me to understand, what was it?” He startled at the question, seemingly not expecting it. “Oh uh…It's weird, don't worry about it.” I gave him a confused look and scooted a bit closer to try and get him to tell me.

“No, c’mon, it's fine. What is it?” He sighed and looked down for a second before looking back up at me. I opened my mouth to say something again but he suddenly grabbed my face and drew me in. His lips landed on mine and his fingers tangled into my hair.

He's insane. Every boy I meet is, I swear. But then why didn't I hate this kiss? I closed my eyes and went along with it. Maybe I was just as insane as him? Maybe he didn't have ulterior motives and plans with the other hockey boys? I could almost believe that, with how sweet this kiss was.

But just as soon as he had pulled me in, he had pulled away. His lips left mine and he looked me in the eyes, searching for a reaction. I just stared at him, dumbfounded and trying to process what had just happened. He kissed me, that's what happened. I should be mad at him for it but for some reason I couldn't feel that way.

“That's…what I wanted you to understand, that I like you. Even if I am on the hockey team, I don't want you to hate me like you hate them.” All I could do was nod my head. I don't know if I should fully trust him, if I should believe that he's not like the rest of them. It's just all so confusing.

“Uhm…Diego, I need you to give me time. Honestly, I don't know what to think of you. I think I like you but I don't know if I can fully trust you so…I need time.” That was all I could come up with and he seemed fully content with it.

He nodded his head and smiled. I didn't smile back, I was too confused and tired. A few awkward seconds went by before I looked away from him, sighed, and looked back up. “Well, I should go inside now. Uhm, good night, Diego.” “Oh, okay, good night.” I turned away from him, opened the car door, and got out, leaving him behind.

I shut the car door and began walking up the driveway of my house to get inside. I got my keys out of my pocket and unlocked the door before going inside. Maverick greeted me at the door and I gave him a pat on the head before going to my room.

I was exhausted. I'd been up for so long and the party had really worn me out. It was already one in the morning and I had gotten to the party around nine. I took off my shoes and belt, letting my pants fall to the floor. Then I crawled into bed and laid down. As I was laying down I realized that when Diego drove me home he never asked for my address.

He just knows where I live somehow. I sighed and decided to let it go, for now. Maverick came and laid on the bed with me, snuggling close. “Maverick, you're too big for the bed.” I told the big golden retriever but I made no move to get him off and soon fell asleep.
