𝑻he first mistake the Greenie made was sprinting towards the massive darkness of the West door of the Maze.

The second mistake he made was trip over a branch and face plant into the grass.

Laughter erupted amongst the herd as they pointed and cracked jokes at the boy. He scrunched his fists at the grass, prying himself to his feet with a stumble as he breathed in the pasture, the massive forest of green, and most especially, the dark stone walls that loomed over him like a haunting cloud.

He continued to gawk and amidst her laughter, Thalia noticed his quivering lips and sweat stricken face. She wanted to help, she really did, but the joy of it redirected her moral compass.

"Alright, Alright, slim it!" Hollered Alby. "Winston, Fry, take him to the Slammer and make sure he doesn't make a run for it again."

The Cook and the Slicer were already half way across the pasture. They locked their arms with his, guiding him—more like, dragging—him toward the Slammer as he continued to glance at every spot around him. His gaze fell to Thalia, head cocking to the side before he shifted it once more.

Alby dismissed them all with a loud clap of his hands and they scurried off like a pile of ants. Thalia and Noah made it back to the gardens, they lost Newt to Alby on the way unfortunately.

"Hey, Thalia? How are you?" Asked Noah as he began to claw at the soil.

Thalia furrowed her brows. "I'm alright?"

Noah only nodded. "Good, good." He began to hum, ripping a weed from the soil and tossing it to the side.

"How are you?" She asked, unsure of whether she should or not. Leaning towards the former though.

"I'm fine," replied Noah.

"Are you both okay?" Zart shrugged, eyebrows knitted as he stared between them. "B'cause I'm sensing some brain damage to the one cell you both seem to share."

"Oh shut up, Zarty."

They worked tirelessly for the remaining work hours—plucking and ripping and disposing. Thalia had had enough already. Usually, she wasn't as tired by dusk but the day seemed to have worn down her limbs and twisted them like a wet washcloth.

Rumbling. Thalia glanced at the Maze doors just in time to see Gally hurl himself at the greenie, arms stretched forward as he pushed him to the ground. Alby was there in an instant, Newt following closely behind. And well, Thalia and Noah simply took it as an opportunity to stray away from their work. Slackers.
