Black Stone was pretty special; they were more of a family than they were a band. Nanami should have known it wouldn't be possible to fit into that sort of family. That night with Yasu was the last night she wanted to ever go to 707, but fate wasn't that yielding.
"Good evening, everyone! We are Dark Siren!"
The crowd cheered and screamed, and Nanami screamed alongside them. Akira had given her tickets to the very front, so she had her eyes locked on them. Julie winked at her, bass guitar in hand. She looked so cool with her blonde hair tied up like she didn't care. The guitarist, Anthony, was the other male in the group—a brunette on the skinnier side, but he always wore a baggy tank and so had his own sex appeal to the fans.
And then there was the drummer, Lilith. Words cannot describe how beautiful she was. She drew the majority of the male fans that Dark Siren had, which honestly was a lot. Her fiery red hair was always left to fall wildly around her as she drummed like her life depended on it.
This was Dark Siren.
"AKIRA!!" Nanami screamed. He smirked at her as the band began to perform.
The music pulsed through the venue; the energy was electrifying. Nanami felt her heart race in time with the beat, her eyes never leaving the stage. Akira's presence was magnetic, and his voice powerful and raw. Julie's bass lines were tight and rhythmic, perfectly complementing Anthony's intricate guitar riffs. And Lilith—Lilith was a force of nature, her drumming fierce and unrelenting.
Nanami lost herself in the music, her worries and doubts melting away. This was where she belonged, in the midst of the music, surrounded by people who understood the power of a good performance. For a moment, all her troubles seemed far away.
After the show, Nanami made her way backstage, her excitement barely contained. The band was cooling down, their adrenaline still high from the performance. Akira spotted her and grinned, walking over to meet her.
"Hey, Nanami! Did you enjoy the show?" he asked, his voice still buzzing with energy.
"It was amazing!" she gushed. "You guys were incredible."
Julie sauntered over, her eyes sparkling. "Glad you liked it. We saw you screaming your lungs out in the front row."
Nanami laughed, feeling a blush creep up her cheeks. "I couldn't help it. You guys are just too good." Julie was charismatic as hell; Nanami wished she had even half of that charisma.
Lilith joined them, flipping her hair back. "We aim to please," she said with a wink. "Thanks for coming out tonight, Nanami."
"It was my pleasure," Nanami replied. "You all were fantastic. I can't wait to see you perform again."
As they chatted, Nanami felt a sense of belonging she hadn't felt in a long time. These people, this music—it was starting to feel like home. She realized that there was a place for her here. It wasn't the same as Black Stone, but it was something special in its own right.
She was in a great mood when she got home, only to walk in and see something she did not want to see.
"Shin!? What happened to your hair!?"
Shin's hair was blue? Green? Grey? Something.
"Oh hey, Nanami, do you like it?"
Not only that! He got new piercings, lots of new piercings.
It was hot on Yasu, but Shin was a baby. What the hell? She didn't know what to say, should she be mad? But she wasn't his mom, what should she do?
"It's nice?" She said, forcing a smile.
