    MORTICIA
    Wednesday? What are you doing?
    WEDNESDAY
    Messaging Enid
    MORTICIA
    Oh.
    WEDNESDAY
    What?
    She looks up from her phone and stares at Morticia
    MORTICIA
    Have you given anymore thought to the Lúnasa Ball? Found a potential date?
    WEDNESDAY
    Yes. I've decided to fly solo, anything else?
    Morticia sighs and closes the door, gliding over to Wednesday's bed. Wednesday also sighs... and put her phone down
    MORTICIA
    Wednesday, you're 16. A date to the ball is no longer optional. It's mandatory. You will be expected to bring a date and you will be expected to dance with said date. As is tradition
    Wednesday looks at Morticia for a few seconds
    WEDNESDAY
    No thank you
    MORTICIA
    Wednesday Addams, this is non negotiable. I'd like to think I'm a fair mother, I don't think I ask much of you-

    MORTICIA

    This morning you asked me not to put thallium in Pugsley's cereal
    MORTICIA

    Tuesday IS a stupid day to die
    MORTICIA
    So other than asking you not to commit murder at the breakfast table... I don't ask much of you. I've always let you do what makes you most comfortable even when being uncomfortable is what what makes you comfortable. This is just one of those things I'm going to have to insist on. Even Pugsley has found himself a date!
