Adam's POV
I'm pacing around my room, heart pounding with a mix of excitement and surprise. I still can't believe Riley said yes. After all the teasing and flirting, she actually agreed to be my Valentine. A grin spreads across my face as I think about the look on her face when she opened the note.
But I need to stay cool. No sense in losing my head over this. I open my closet, determined to find the perfect outfit. Tonight, I have to look my best, no questions about it.
I sift through my clothes, my mind racing. A sleek black suit, maybe? Or should I go with something more casual?
I take a moment to check myself in the mirror, adjusting the collar and making sure everything looks just right. My hair's a bit of a mess, but I decide to leave it that way-it's part of my charm, after all.
As I get ready, I can't help but think about how tonight will go. Riley and I have always had this thing between us, and tonight might just be the night it all becomes clear. I feel a flutter of anticipation, a rare feeling for someone like me who usually plays it so cool.
I take a deep breath and slip on my jacket, giving myself one last look in the mirror. "You've got this," I tell myself with a confident nod. Tonight is going to be unforgettable, and I can't wait to see Riley and make her night special.
As I get ready, I let my mind drift, imagining Riley and me dancing at the Valentine's party. The way she'll smile, the way we'll move together-it's a perfect moment.
But just as I'm lost in the thought, a knock on the door interrupts my daydream. I open it to find Sophia standing there, a smirk on her face.
"You broke my imagination," I tell her, half-joking, half-annoyed.
Sophia rolls her eyes. "You were wasting your time daydreaming when you're supposed to be picking us up. Come on, Adam, get it together. Riley's waiting for you downstairs."
My heart skips a beat at the thought of Riley waiting for me. I give Sophia a quick nod and rush down the stairs, my excitement building with every step. When I reach the bottom, I see Riley sitting on the couch, looking absolutely angelic. Her beauty takes my breath away.
I walk over and sit beside her, unable to keep the smile off my face. "Hey, you look amazing," I say softly, my voice filled with admiration.
Riley blushes, looking down for a moment before meeting my gaze. "Thank you, Adam. You look great too."
I take her hand, the warmth of her touch sending a rush of emotions through me. "I can't wait to dance with you tonight," I say, my voice barely above a whisper.
Riley smiles, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "Me neither."
Just as the moment feels perfect, a loud honk from outside breaks the spell. We both turn to see Sophia leaning out of the car window, a playful grin on her face. "You two lovebirds can have your moment at the party! Let's go!"
