The late afternoon sun cast a warm glow through the windows of Walker's living room. Walker and his friend Brady were deeply engrossed in a game of Fortnite, the sounds of gunfire and strategy discussions filling the room.

On the other side of the room, Aurelia was curled up on the couch, deeply absorbed in A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.

She had her AirPods in, Taylor swifts song , no body no crime , playing in her ears , Taylor's soothing voice providing a gentle backdrop to the suspenseful pages of her book.

Despite her focus, she could still hear snippets of Walker and Brady's conversation and the occasional exclamation of victory or frustration.

"Got him!" Walker shouted, and Brady laughed. "Nice shot, man!"

Aurelia smiled slightly at their banter, her eyes never leaving the page. She was nearing the climax of the book, and Pip was just about to uncover a major clue. As she turned the page, a familiar song began to play in her ears – Gracie Abrams' "Close to You." The soft melody made her pause, a smile spreading across her face as she let the music wash over her.

Walker, taking a momentary break from the game, glanced over at Aurelia. Her contented smile caught his attention, and he couldn't help but smile himself. He loved seeing her so happy and relaxed.

"Hey, Aura," Walker called out, his voice cutting through her music. She looked up, pulling out one AirPod.

"Yeah?" she replied, her eyes still twinkling with the happiness the song brought her.

"Is it Ravi Singh again?" Walker teased, knowing she often read with his music in the background.

Aurelia shook her head, laughing. "No, not this time."

"Gracie Abrams?" Walker guessed, seeing the soft look on her face.

Aurelia nodded, her smile widening. "Yeah, 'Close to You' just came on."

Walker grinned. "Hang on a sec, Brady," he said into his headset before muting the microphone and taking it off.

"Hey, what gives?" Brady's voice protested from the screen.

"Be right back, man," Walker said quickly, turning his attention fully to Aurelia. He walked over to her, gently taking her phone from her hands and disconnecting the AirPods.

"What are you doing?" Aurelia asked, curious and a little amused.

Walker didn't answer right away. Instead, he played the song out loud and held out his hands to her. "Dance with me?"

Aurelia's eyes widened in surprise, but she couldn't help the giggle that escaped her lips. "Really? Now?"

Walker nodded, a playful glint in his eye. "Really. Come on, it'll be fun."

Aurelia set her book aside and took his hands, standing up. "Alright, let's do this."

Walker led her to the center of the room, where they had more space.

Walker led her to the center of the room, where they had more space. The upbeat, catchy lyrics of "Close to You" filled the air as he placed one hand on her waist and held her hand with the other. They began to sway gently, finding a rhythm that matched the song's tempo.

"This is nice," Aurelia said softly, looking up at Walker.

"Yeah, it is," Walker replied, smiling down at her. "I love this song, too."

They danced, their movements becoming more lively as they got into the rhythm. Walker couldn't help but feel a sense of joy, enjoying the moment with his best friend.

"Thanks for this," Aurelia whispered, resting her head on Walker's shoulder. "I needed a break from all the murder and mystery."

Walker chuckled, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "Anytime. And I needed a break from all the shooting and explosions."

As the song drew to a close, they gradually slowed their movements, finally coming to a stop. Walker looked into Aurelia's eyes, a warm smile on his face. "You know, you're pretty good at this dancing thing."

Aurelia laughed, shaking her head. "Only because you're leading. I'd be lost otherwise."

Walker grinned, giving her a playful nudge. "We make a good team."

"Yeah, we do," Aurelia agreed, her smile matching his.

Brady's voice crackled through the headset, breaking the moment. "Walker, you coming back or what?"

Walker laughed, letting go of Aurelia's hands. "Duty calls."

Aurelia returned to the couch, picking up her book again.

He winked at her before putting his headset back on. "Alright, Brady, let's get back to it."

As Walker resumed his game, Aurelia put her AirPods back in, but this time she let the music play softly in the background, savoring the warmth of the moment they had just shared. She turned the page of her book, feeling more at peace than she had in a long time.

The rest of the afternoon passed in a comfortable rhythm. Walker and Brady continued their gaming marathon, their voices filled with camaraderie and excitement. Aurelia, now even more engrossed in her book, found herself glancing up occasionally, smiling at the sound of Walker's laughter.

When evening approached, Walker finally logged off from the game, stretching and yawning. "Alright, Brady, I'm calling it a day. See you later."

"Later, man," Brady replied, and the connection went silent.

Walker turned to Aurelia, who had just finished her book. "Done already?"

Aurelia nodded, closing the book with a satisfied sigh. "Yep, just finished. It was so good."

Walker walked over and flopped down on the couch beside her. "Want to tell me all about it?"

Aurelia's eyes lit up. "Absolutely! So, Pip finally uncovered the truth, and it was..."

As she launched into a detailed recount of the book's climax, Walker listened attentively, glad to see his friend so passionate and excited. The sun had set, and the room was bathed in the soft glow of the lamp, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for sharing stories and making memories.

And so, they spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing, enjoying each other's company. It was moments like these that made their friendship so special, and they both knew they wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.
