~ Brothers

It wasn't hard for James and Kendra to restart. She could feel the guilt he had and no evil hid behind it. James knew that his new sister was embarrassed so of course he found a way to incredibly embarrass himself to make up for it. It's funny how boys' minds work.

The Potter family celebrated a nice low-key Christmas in the comfort of their home. James and Sirius both got new trousers that went down to their ankles, unlike the ones they currently owned, and got a brand new set of quidditch gear. Kendra was noticeably confused by their new gear, and that led to a spiral. The two boys spent a very long time explaining the sport to the girl and promised to teach her to fly before winter break was over.

Monty and Mia both received their favorite chocolates from each other. It was adorable to see them open their gifts only to find they both had the same exact idea. Sirius got James a two-way mirror, which he had the other half too and James got Sirius a muggle prank book. The two boys were unsure of what to get their new sister, so they settled on little things. Sirius got the girl Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a book on all magical creatures that she would thoroughly enjoy, and James got her a variety of wizarding candies. Kendra seemed particularly inclined to everything chocolate.

Later in the evening on Christmas their close friend Alastor Moody dropped in to say hello. Of course, his owl arrived no more than two minutes before him, in his typical fashion. He gifted the three children enchanted muggle knives which Mia was not at all fond about. The crazy man of course had a thousand reasons why enchanted knives were needed in close-range wandless duels. Mia had to remind him that the children were not inclined to stab anyone, but that was beside the point.

It was now just a couple of days before the kids were due to go back and resume winter term at Hogwarts.

Monty and Kendra had been busy training over the span of the last few days. The young witch had seemed to almost master wand magic, and with the two boys home she was able to learn how teenagers act.

Kendra felt silly studying James and Sirius. Though they didn't mind she was still embarrassed. The white-haired witch hated that she was so peculiar. She desperately wanted to hide in the background like every other person and live a normal life. But nothing about her was normal.

"Don't worry too much about it," Sirius said.

The three teens were sprawled out in the sitting room discussing Hogwarts. Kendra sat in her usual armchair closest to the fire and James and Sirius sat beside each other on the couch. Their legs were laid out widely and their heads were tilted forward in an unhealthy position for their neck.

Boys posture confused her very much.

"Yeah I wouldn't worry too much," James added, "You'll pick up on the slang quickly and then you're set."

Sirius nodded in agreement and shot a comforting smile towards his new sister. He could still feel the apprehension rolling off of her in waves and wished he could do more to help.

Over the last few weeks, the three teenagers had grown to become very close. The two boys had unconsciously become anchors in Kendra's life. She knew that they were safe and that helped ground her during her recent panics. They were much more deep and understanding than they initially let on.

James had taught her how to fly while Sirius acted as a safety net. Sirius woke her from night terrors while James made them tea. James taught her to play cards and Sirius (secretly) taught her to cheat.

"James go ahead and open the floo channel, dear!" Euphemia Potter's voice called from the kitchen.

The boy muttered something under his breath and whipped his wand towards the fireplace. Beside him, Sirius sat up confused.
