~ Blue Eyes

The hustle and bustle around the train station was no joke.

Kendra was heavily overwhelmed by the hundreds of people walking shoulder to shoulder in each and every direction. She battled to keep up with the Potter family who seemed to move through the crowd with ease.

It seemed that Remus had noticed her struggle and Kendra was grateful that he subtly slowed down to walk beside her.

"It's always a bloody huge crowd," he said looking at her with a smile.

Behind his eyes Kendra saw his effort to make her feel more at ease and that made her smile too.

"I've never been around so many people before," she said quietly not thinking of the questions that might arise from Remus.

Thankfully the tall wizard only furrowed his brows momentarily and kept his thoughts internally.

Remus led them past nine platforms before they ran through the magical entrance to platform 9 3/4. They moved towards the wall and out of the way as the wolfish boy used his height to locate the rest of the crew they had arrived with.

Kendra stood meekly beside him. Her mind was in overload trying to see the intentions of every person who crossed her path. Part of herself begged her mind to relax, but her crippling anxiety wouldn't allow it.

"Oh! I found them," Remus exclaimed suddenly but the girl beside him was not listening. He ushered Kendra to follow him as he walked towards the Potter's and didn't notice that the blonde girl was not following.

The tall boy was suddenly vanishing from her view when Kendra finally snapped back to her senses. A wave of panic hit her and she attempted to run after him, but the crowd of people slowed her pace and overwhelmed her once again.

Caught up in her panic, Kendra didn't notice a tall dark haired boy watching her, nor did she notice the tears that began to fall down her face.

Regulus Black was mesmerized.

The boy was standing a few feet from the railing of the platform staring past all the people walking around him. His gaze was fixated on the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

The girl had long thin blonde hair that was so light it could pass for white. Her skin matched the locks framing her face. She was pale, paler than anyone he had ever seen before but it only seemed to add to her beauty. Her face was round and he could hardly make out the freckles that lightly littered her cheeks that were covered in tears.

The Black heir felt his heart twist painfully in his chest at the sight of the mystery girl's quiet tears. She looked lost, and by the way, her eyes quickly flitted across the people around her, Regulus could tell she was looking for someone.

Regulus's feet acted on their own accord as he was suddenly walking towards the girl. A strong urge to help her clouded his senses. He was about ten feet from her when he finally realized what he was doing and felt nerves creep up his spine. He was never able to act on the softness of his heart with his parent's close eye. What if they were watching him now?

He was about to abandon his efforts when he was frozen in place by two crystal blue eyes.

The girl was looking at him.

Her beautiful eyes felt like gentle knives piercing through his body to his soul. Regulus stood still, locked to the ground, welcoming her gaze that seemed to intrude into every corner of his mind.
