Chapter Thirty Eight

Takemichi ran to find Naoto as he wanted to see him, he needed to see him. He had Naoto meet him in the park, he was glad to see the past Naoto. Even if he knew this one wouldn't die he was still scared from the future.

He walked over to Naoto and grabbed his hand, hoping he could go back. But no matter how long he held his hands, nothing happened. Takemichi was heartbroken as he knew this meant future Naoto was really gone. He couldn't help but cry as he felt hopeless, Naoto died to protect him.

Takemichi sat on the slide with his head in his hands, nothing but heartache filling his mind and body.

"Naoto, do you remember when we first met? Hina and M/n had died and I came back, in the future you and I tried to save her and M/n. But now you...future you was the trigger and now I can't go back. Oh Naoto."
Takemichi looked at the ground as he was trying to hold it together.

"Then I learn M/n was killed along with his son, his and Mikey's son. But then he wasn't dead, but the leader of that evil. How can I save him? How can I protect my brother?"
Takemichi balled his hands into a fist as he thought about all the pain M/n went through.

"Maybe I can save you all, yeah. I'll save him and everyone else, only then I will go back. But I'll fail...and fail...and fail again. Maybe...I should just die"
Takemichi was brought out of his pity when he felt someone behind him on the slide. He looked back and saw Hina, he was shocked to see her instead of Naoto.

"H-Hina?!"

"I love you"
She whispered as she hugged him from behind.

"D-did you hear all that?"

"I did, I think you got me confused with Naoto"
She laid her head on Takemichi's back as she talked. Takemichi was panicking inside as he realized he had just told Hina about the future.

"How old are you really?"

"Twenty six"

"I won't ask about the future but tell me one thing, did future Takemichi propose to me?"

"No...not yet. B-b-but I always thought about us getting married!"

"That's good...then I can die happy"
When she said that Takemichi couldn't help the tears in his eyes. The two sat there in a comfortable silence, enjoying each other's company. 

Soon the sun came up and Hina got up saying she had to get back home before her parents woke up. Takemichi was going to tell her that the stuff he told here was fake but she stopped him. She didn't want to hear anything else about it, then she left.

Takemichi was walking home, with a new goal of taking down Kisaki. He had to find out more about Izana, he had a connection to M/n in the past and future. Takemichi is also sure he was the one who faked M/n's death. As Takemichi was heading home, he ran into Draken.

In the Sano household, Emma was cooking breakfast as her grandfather sat at the table. 

"Grandpa, wake up Mikey for me. Oh and let M/n know breakfast is almost done too"
Emma asked her grandpa as she continued to cook.
