Bora glanced at the clock, her fingers absentmindedly doodling in the margins of her notebook. "He's late today," she thought, a hint of anticipation tingling in her chest.
The last time Taehyung had been late, he had made up for it with an adorable, sheepish grin that had lingered in her mind for days. What might he do today, she wondered, as she waited in the quiet study room.
Since they had grown closer—or at least, that's what she hoped—they had decided to study in the study room instead of the library. This arrangement was actually quite nice, as it afforded them a lot of privacy.
Hidden in her backpack was a paper she hadn't shown anyone yet: her latest math test results. She had jumped from 49th to 21st place, a big achievement for her. She hadn't told anyone about it yet; she wanted him to be the first to know.
After all, it was thanks to Taehyung's help that she had been able to achieve such good marks.
That's when he entered—Kim Taehyung. Bora stared at him, and when their eyes locked, his face was unreadable. She just sat there, not speaking, sensing something different about him. Ignoring the strange feeling, she decided to break the silence.
"You are late, Mr. Kim," she teased, addressing him formally to poke fun at him. He didn't even glance at her.
"Bro, you're so rude. At least a hello would work," she continued, trying to lighten the mood. Taehyung looked up and glared at her.
"Shut up," he said in a low tone.
Bora felt a mix of disrespect and annoyance. "Why do you think I should listen to you, huh? What do you think of me, some kind of slav—" She was cut off by him.
"Just shut up," he repeated, sounding truly irritated. Despite her frustration, Bora tried to stay calm.
"You prick. I actually have something to show you," she said, taking the paper out of her bag. He sighed and looked at it.
"Don't you think I'm smart? I got such good marks. You should be honored to have such a bright student. Hehe, someday I might even score more than you—"
He cut her off again, glaring at her before looking at the paper. "Are you seriously this dumb? So fucking stupid. What are you even proud of, huh? Scoring this much? And you think you can score more than me? Get real and know your place," he yelled. For the first time, he cursed, and Bora didn't understand why he was acting like this.
