"𝕄𝕆𝕄, I don't—I don't think I like it here," a scrawny boy with glasses named Joel said, standing nervously with his parents.

"Oh, will you stop already?" his mother, Selma, snapped. She reached into her purse, rummaging through it with one hand while using the other to keep her son still. "Do you know how dirty you are?" She pulled out a tissue, licked it, and began wiping Joel's face with exaggerated care.

The father, exasperated, intervened. "Selma, please leave him alone."

Joel, his breathing laboured, reached for his inhaler. "I can't breathe," he wheezed.

Selma, still fussing over him, dismissed his complaint. "Oh, stop it, Joel, please. Now stand up straight."

As Joel raised the inhaler to his mouth, he caught sight of Lilith. She stood out against the mundane backdrop of Camp Chippewa, her dark attire and striking presence a stark contrast to the cheery camp atmosphere. At that moment, she was watching Pugsley attempt to hang himself from a nearby tree, a morbid activity that seemed perfectly ordinary to the Addams family.

Joel's parents continued to bicker, their voices a distant murmur as he stared, entranced by Lilith. To him, she was the most enchanting girl he had ever seen.

However, his admiration did not go unnoticed. Wednesday, ever watchful and possessive, saw Joel's longing gaze. His protective instincts flared, and he wrapped his arm around Lilith's waist, drawing her close. Without a word, he kissed her lovingly, staking his claim. Lilith blushed but returned the kiss, her cheeks turning a delicate shade of pink. When Wednesday finally pulled away, he cast a cold, warning glare at Joel over her shoulder. His message was clear: 'She is mine.'

Joel, embarrassed and intimidated, quickly averted his eyes. The intensity of Wednesday's glare and the possessiveness in his actions left no room for misunderstanding.

Wednesday turned his attention back to Lilith, his expression softening as he traced his thumb across her bottom lip. Lilith stared up at him in shock, still reeling from the unexpected display of affection.

In that moment, the contrast between the ordinary world of the other campers and the dark, passionate world of the Addams family was starkly evident. And Joel, for all his fascination with Lilith, knew better than to challenge the boy who had claimed her heart.

A whistle blew sharply, capturing everyone's attention. Gary, brimming with enthusiasm, called out, "Lifesaving! Now I know we're all top-notch little swimmers, but now we get to show our stuff and earn those certificates!" He jumped up and down, and most of the children clapped energetically. The Addams boys, Lilith, and Joel, however, remained unimpressed.
