Chester

"Hey, where were you last night? You didn't get home until really late.."
Chester asked his sister as he walked into the kitchen, Dariya handing him a cheese and ham bagel for breakfast.
"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry. You know how Ryan gets..."
Dariya apologised as she cleaned up in the kitchen.

Chester's stomach churned as he thought about the way Ryan treated his sister. They'd been dating since high school and ever since then he just got worse, always telling her what to do and manipulating her, looking down on her like she's scum. Chester had his suspicions about him being abusive physically towards her too, yet he never asked.

"Why don't you just dump him? I don't like him."
Chester made his input before taking a quick swig of apple juice.
"I don't know.. I've been trying but every time I do he starts talking about how it's just not the right time to break up.."
Dariya spoke in a melancholy tone.

"Who gives a shit? It's the right time for you so that's what you gotta do Dariya. Oh yeah also, I'm going out tonight"
Chester informed as he made his way to the sink to help Dariya clean the dishes.
"Oh yeah? With Maxxie again?"
Dariya asked, hiding the little smirk on her face.

"Yeah, and a couple other people, Lizzy too."
Chester smiled, he was finally doing something he enjoyed with people he enjoyed being around. He'd made new friends, a potential first girlfriend. Everything was falling into place.

"Sounds fun, you need any cash?"
The fluffy haired girl asked.
"Thanks but no thanks. I'm getting enough money from dog walks and library shifts. Don't you worry, I've got us covered"
Chester winked before grabbing his bag, kissing his sisters cheek and yelling goodbye as he left to meet Maxxie at the gas station.

Maxxie

"Im gonna completely trash you at bowling tonight, you have no idea what's coming moonface"
Maxxie challenged as the two boys walked to school, their finger tips stinging and their noses red from the cold.

"I wouldn't be so sure Maxi-pad. I went there almost every day the whole summer when I was 10. Bet I could beat you with my eyes closed"
Chester objected.

"Oh yeah tough guy? How about we make a bet? Whoever wins gets to... choose where we eat after. We'll split everyone into teams. Us being the team leaders, and whoever has the most scores added up at the end gets to decide where we eat"
Maxxie imposed, taking his hand out his pocket to shake on it.

"Deal, get ready to loose"
Chester shook on it before the two went back to talking about who would win in a fight, a duck-sized horse or a horse-sized duck.

Ofcourse, their conversation was cut short due to the dark haired girl approaching the two, stealing all of Chester's attention as Maxxie was left to his own world, he eventually split from the two as soon as he found Alex and Hugh, Chester didn't even notice in his love sick state he got around Lizzy.

"You know.. I'm not a fan of that Lizzy girl, she's kinda rude"
Maxxie slumped as he approached his friends.
"Really? She seems nice"
Hugh exclaimed, completely oblivious.
"Yeah well, she's not. She completely interrupted mine and Chester's conversation. Like, who does that?"
Maxxie complained as he propped his side up against his locker.
