Chester
Chester had been trying his best to avoid Maxxie after coming to the horrifying realisation on Shark Night that he might possibly have feelings for the freckled boy, though his plan to avoid said boy didn't seem to be going very well.
They were in nearly every single class together, skipping art without getting caught was harder than he'd thought it'd be without going to Maxxies hiding spot and they had planned so much for the upcoming to Christmas that it was practically impossible to stay away from the boy, yet he still made it very clear that he was trying his best to avoid Maxxie, who thought it was because he'd caught onto Maxxie having a tiny crush on him.
The auburn haired boy thought he'd completely ruined the friendship forever, doubting himself as he rethought everything he'd ever said to Chester that could've possibly upset him.
"Yo! Christmas lights are being lit in town square tonight, you're coming, right?"
Marcel asked as Chester approached his locker."Uhh.. yeah. I think I'm going with Lizzy. I'll see you there though"
Chester replied, he couldn't go with the group, not if Maxxie was going to be there. He knew what he was doing was cruel, but he wasn't going to do it for long. Just until his feelings for the boy disappeared."Seriously? Dude you've spent every day with Lizzy the past few days, we planned this months ago"
Marcel rolled his eyes at Chester's reliability recently."Yeah well having a girlfriends a lot of work, maybe you'd know that if you'd grow a pair of balls and ask Fallon out"
Chester retaliated, getting defensive as he thought someone was catching onto what was going on."Whatever dude, have fun. Guess we'll see you there"
Marcel spoke in a monotone voice before walking off.
Chester felt like crying, he hated distancing himself from the people he loved most. But it's what he had to do if he wanted to get over his silly little feelings for Maxxie.Chester watched as Marcel met up with the rest of the group, laughing and messing around together as Lizzy clung onto his arm. He listened out for the beautiful sound of Maxxies laugh, yet it never came.
Eventually he was dragged away by an agitated Lizzy, claiming he never paid attention to her. Yet how could he when Maxxie was right there? Smiling and dancing with Alex while he was stuck there, not being able to participate because of his silly feelings.
Maxxie
"Seriously? He's not coming?"
Maxxie asked as him and Marcel walked down the hallways."Nope, says he's going with Lizzy and that he'll see us there"
Marcel shrugged.
Maxxie struggled to hide his hurt feelings as his posture became sloppier and his smile dropped, his eyes dulling."Whatever, his loss"
Maxxie spoke in an annoyed voice, Marcel knew Maxxie was more hurt than he was putting on, yet he didn't say anything.Maxxie ignored the bile rising in the back of his throat as he made his way to his next class.
He missed Chester's presence, he missed hearing him laugh, seeing him smile. He missed joking about with him and trying their hardest to get Mr Hobnob.
He missed pre-girlfriend Chester.
