The whole ride I hadn't seen any of the boys. Maybe they were hiding from me. Trying to avoid me like this morning.
"This is what we're doing all day?" I asked jumping on the couch as I sat criss cross
"For right now yes"
I sighed leaning my head back against the couch as I looked up at the tall ceiling. The ceiling was mainly white like the walls. Outlined in gold.
Her favorite color has to be gold and red. Who wants to look at these colors everyday? Not me. If you ask, I think it's basic and kinda ugly.
"Penny for your thoughts"
"Huh?" I looked forward watching Missy sit across from me. The seat I had sat in for my interview.
"I'll give you something in exchange for your thoughts"
"I have no thoughts right now"
She poured some drink in two glasses, "you did earlier"
"I appreciate you helping me, but I don't really care to talk about it" I said playing with the him of the flannel
I watched through my eyelashes as she finished pouring the drinks in the glass cups. Sliding one towards me.
I was thirsty. I hadn't had anything to drink this morning. I wasn't going to grab it though. Not yet anyways. I was curious as to what it was.
"You've been quiet since this morning. You haven't had your normal attitude towards me"
I raised an eyebrow, "attitude?"
"The normal teenage attitude. Talking back, not caring about what I say. You've been deep in your thoughts"
I shrugged, "just tired. Haven't slept well, ya know?"
"Why haven't you slept well? Those dream I assume?"
"Why do you care?"
She leaned back not fazed by outburst, "I held you while you were naked in my arms. You cried and talked to yourself none stop. Excuse me for being a little worried about a girl who wakes up with her bed drenched in sweat"
She got me there. I couldn't possibly tell her what had happened to me, or what I think did. I was still confused about everything.
Chan did say we need to know more about these people. Maybe if I tell her a little about me, she'll have more trust in me.
Then I can tell the boys and they won't be as mad at me. Sounds like a good plan. I just have to go about it the right way.
"So?" Missy asked sipping on her drink, "what kind of nightmares do you have"
"I'm not really sure" I truthfully answered, "before I meet the boys I was alone. There were nights I was attacked and I just relive those days"
Missy nodded, "it is scary out there. I used to have nightmares as well, but not anymore. I think living here helped with those"
They may have helped with hers, but not mine. She seemed to believe in the lie and that's one I'll continue. The scars were good evidence for that.
"Is that how you got those scars?" There it was
I nodded, "Yes"
"Scars can say a lot. They also hold memories and battles. Something you shouldn't hide. I see how you look down when you are around others. You shouldn't worry about what people think"
"I never knew what I looked like until recently. I find myself-"
"Don't even say it" she said getting up, "you're a beautiful girl and trust me. When you see others looking at you, it's not because of the scars. It's because of your looks"
I turned around leaning over the back of the couch as she went back to her desk, "looks?"
"Yes, looks" she laughed, "you're young and innocent. Keep it that way for a while. Just know, no one is scared of you here. If anything, they are curious of your journey. They will have questions, don't take it to offense"
I hoped over the couch as she threw a satchel over her shoulders. Grabbing a few papers and notebooks, she threw them in the bag and walked towards the door.
I followed behind a little upset not knowing what was held in that glass cup on the table. I'll make sure to drink it next time.
"Where are we going?"
"To the wear house. Id like for you to meet my second hand man"
~~~
I walked backwards as we entered through two huge doors. The warehouse was humongous. People walked around on the around level in all black. Gun strapped to their sides.
This is where Chan had to be. Would I see him, or maybe Minho or Changbin. Part of me wanted to, the other was afraid they would just ignore me.
"Koi, keep up"
I turned around seeing Missy was ahead of me. I took off in a jog to catch up dodging past people as I looked at all the different cars and random wooden box's laying around.
Missing began to walk up metal stair and I followed onto the second level. Still being able to see down below.
Our foot steps were loud against the metal see through floors. They shook, but I knew they weren't going to fall anytime soon.
We walked to the end and a door was at the right of the corner. Missy entered inside and so did I. Not knowing what was inside due to the blinds being shut on the window that looked out to everything.
"Darwin" Missy said walking further in
She walked towards a desk and sat her bag down on a worn down chair. Inside wasn't big like her office was. It was much smaller.
It wasn't a nice color either. It was all metal and posters covered the walls along with papers and boards.
One light was in the middle of the ceiling that lit this room up. It looked like it would fall any minute if it wasn't for all the wires holding it.
"Koi" Missy called out, "I'd like for you to meet Darwin"
I walked up beside her. I looked up at the man wide eyed. It was the same guy who had patted me down when we first arrived.
Was this it? He told her. I knew he would. I don't blame the poor guy. He was probably scared if stabbed him or something.
"Darwin this is Koi"
Without worrying about Donny being in my bag. I could get a better look at this man. He was huge, bigger than Chan and Changbin combined. No wonder why he's her second hand. She probably feels protected with him.
He wasn't much taller than the boys. Five eleven maybe. Shoot, he actually could be six feet. All I know was he was taller than me. I literally had to look up at him.
He wore what the others outside were. Black cargo pants with a matching shirt. A gun strapped to his right thigh and a longer one lying against the wall.
His dreads were pulled back into a small ponytail while one was let loose on his face. It fit him well. If he was bald, he would have been way uglier.
He looked at me and did a small nod towards me. He looked back towards Missy not stealing another glance towards me.
