Having witnessed the destruction of the sanctuary, Princess Alexia, Princess Rose and Beta were now walking back to the city.
"What we saw there...." Alexia said, thinking of the explosion caused by (Y/N).
"It was probably Shadow's or Nightshroud's...." Rose said.
Alexia stopped walking.
"Alexia?" Rose asked.
"Didn't it do anything to you...?"
"What do you mean?" Rose asked.
Alexia, Rose and Beta turned to the now flooded Lindwurm.
"There was nothing we could do. I thought I'd accepted the fact that I'm powerless. But there's more to it than that. Who was right and who was wrong...? I couldn't even discern right from wrong. All I could do was stand there, a helpless spectator. If things stay like this, if I never learn anything, then I'm going to lose all the things I hold dear before I even know they're in danger. That's the feeling I have." Alexia explained.
"I've been thinking too. Ever since the Academy was attacked the other day, I've had the impression that there are huge organizations working in the shadows. But we don't know anything, either about Shadow Garden or the organization they're at war with." Says Rose.
"So what have you been up to, Princess Alexia Midgar?" Beta asked.
"We are weak and ignorant. But if the three of us work together, we should be able to do something. After all, I'm the princess of the kingdom of Midgar, and Rose is the princess of the kingdom of Oriana, and you're Natsume Kafka. As an author, you surely have a network of connections you can use. We're going to work together to gather information." Alexia explained.
"And what are you going to do with the information you find?" Beta asked.
"That depends on what it is. But I think maybe the three of us could join forces and fight back. We'll recruit allies, establish a base of operations... would that work?" Alexia replied.
"Not even the shadow of a solid plan." Beta sighed.
"Well, I said we'd gather information first! Then we'll analyze it and decide!" Proposed the white-haired princess.
"It would be nice if you had the intellect to analyze anything." Beta whispered.
"Did you say something?" Alexia asked him.
"No, nothing at all."
"Then what do you say? Are you with me or not?"
"I'll join you. I don't have much to offer, but I do have a little influence." Rose smiled.
"I'm in, too. I'll use my writing connections to do some research." Says Beta.
"Then it's settled, we're officially a team. Even if one of us comes from a different kingdom and social status, and we have absolutely no idea what's going on deep in her heart.... I choose to believe that we are on the same side."
